I love all the servers they are all awesome. Today my daughter ordered a chicken salad sandwich and she thought it was a regular chicken sandwich, they were so nice and switched her order and didn't charge me for 2 sandwiches.

I came in at 750pm they said they are closed. Hours show 9pm. I'll never stop again.
I placed an order over the phone and was quoted $12.77. When I got there and paid using my bank card the receipt they handed back was $13.15. $0.38 higher then what I expected. When I asked them about it they said they now charge to use a credit card. The problem is, you can only legally charge customers for using an actual credit card, you know the kind that you can go into debt with. I used a bank debit card and ran it as credit using tap to pay. In Illinois it's illegal to charge a customer a surcharge for running a bank debit card as credit. They also failed to mention these surcharges prior to the transaction and it was not clearly listed on the receipt.
I was going to leave a larger tip but decided to leave a smaller one that was significantly less than what they would have gotten if I wasn't charged the surcharge fee.
I do plan on to report these violations.

Restaurantji Recommends
The last time I was here it was still the old k&h truck stop and restaurant. Now it's called Lucy's and it was excellent. I just had one of the best roast beef Manhattans wonderful, great mashed potatoes perfectly cooked broccoli as a side dish you can't beat it. Please support old school All American truck stop diner joints like this before they go the way of the dinosaur due to corporate everything. If I ever won the mega millions or the Powerball, I'd Make it my life's work to buy up every one of these places like this and keep them in business forever. This is old school Americana at its finest. I can't recommend Lucy's highly enough. Plus, if you're a trucker, they have a huge parking lot that's free and that matters a lot just so you know who 10-4

Family oriented professional folks and them foods weren't delicious and tasted Bland according to by taste buds. Not expensive and very affordable. Both the Cod sandwich and the steak 🥩 were bland, even the corn didn't have no flavors. I only enjoyed the short stacks Pancakes 🥞 and the fruit 🍑 🍋🟩
I'm glad I was able to some to eat today.
Thanks

It sure it’s the good K & H served. Living in Danforth my husband and I have been there many times. But since it became Lucy’s Kitchen, sad to say we’ve been maybe 2 times. Food was nothing special neither was the service. Go by there all the time, seems it’s seldom even open.
