We had a party of 14, including 4 children and 2 babies. A reservation for 14 held by cc was required with $25 min per seat including babies if no show. Poor communication on these details. Would not seat us until the entire party had arrived when the clock started for 3 hrs max due to the group size. After we were seated we waited >20 min before an order was taken which we had to request. At 3 pm there weren't too many people so I don't know what the issue was. One round of drinks came then food. A round of 4 more drinks never arrived but we were charged for them. Another request for drinks was filled. The bill came at the 3 hr mark, paid for with cc, with a 20% cash tip. In our hurry to leave I did not notice on the receipt the 4 drinks that we did not receive. The next day after comparing notes with the group I called the restaurant and was told I'd get a call back from the waitress which never happened. Also was told that I should have caught the error when the bill was presented. I was disappointed in the lack of response as we had been to Schnitzelplatz many times with large groups over the past 30 years. The problem was minor, $36 on a bill close to $600. Should have warranted better customer service.

As usual, the food was delectable, the schnitzel was only rivaled by the chicken strips. The giant pretzel came with an array of strong dippers, like horseradish and mustard, and the bier cheese was especially loved by the whole table. Good music, GREAT beer, and the service was fast and never too far away to order another round. We can't wait to go back!

We attended the final week of the Oktoberfest celebration. There was a lively atmosphere. Our server was polite and attentive. She checked on us regularly and fulfilled our requests promptly. The food was outstanding and portions generous. Schnitzel Platz serves genuine German beers and Hoffbrau Oktoberfest was available on tap for the celebration. I would recommend Schnitzel Platz if you enjoy German food and a fun atmosphere.

As a longtime Chicago area resident I've seen so many German restaurants close I'm glad I found this vintage German restaurant I felt like I was in Bavaria

If you love German food and German culture, this is the vibe! I can't speak much on food and drink as I only had a beer and a pretzel, but I will say beer selection is excellent if you like Bavarian style and the pretzel was absolutely delicious. One of the best I've had. I got it with the beer cheese, and it was also served with mustard and horseradish.

We were here on two occasions, one week apart. The first time was sooo good! Meals and beer and service couldn't have been better! The second time, the sauerbraten was dry and tough when last week it was so tender! The beer is great! The entertainment on Friday- Sunday was great fun. Had to wait for our server several times, but the place was so busy. We'll come back.

Our dinner was wonderful. The server took good care of us. We definitely will return. They have the best liver dumpling soup.!!!

If you are looking for authentic German food in the Chicago suburbs, Schnitzel Platz should automatically be your go-to! Everything is freshly made and authentic. For those with gluten allergies/intolerances, they have a dedicated fryer for gluten-free. (One of the very few in the area who provide this!) My go-to is always the chicken schnitzel with homemade spaetzle and German home fries. They offer an extensive German beer and wine list as well. And don't forget dessert! Their strudel is to die for!

The food and the service were very good! Great German fair. Everyone in our party really enjoyed their meals. Lots of activity since it was Oktoberfest. Separate tent set up for outside dining.

Schnitzel Platz Oktoberfest has become a tradition for our family, with a growing party! The food and drink are always fantastic, and the service is amazing. All of the staff is wonderful, with Cori being our go to girl!

Every time we come to the Schnitzel Platz, it's always a great time! Grab a litter (or 3!) of great beer, listen to authentic German music, and get ready to eat some of the best German food in the Chicago area. Make reservations, because they get busy!

Host was rude. She had to repeat multiple times about the 10 minute grace period even though we were inside before the “10 minute grace period” was up. I told her we were outside and knew about the 10 minute grace period that's why we got inside when we did. She said we still had about 2 minutes left but wanted to let us know that we should have called and told them we were late since it's a Sunday. She repeated this multiple times like we were morons. Funny thing is that the restaurant was slow the whole time we were there. Empty tables, empty booths and empty tent. No wait at all! Pork schnitzel was soo bland. The pork chop was only ham on the bone! Ridiculous that it wasn't what was stated on the menu. $19 for a brat and a side?! Music and entertainment wasn't what it used to be. We've come here for years and don't think we will be back. Always came for my birthday. My 40th birthday and my family had to ask twice if they would sing. Finally sang before we walked out. Just not the same.

Thanks so much for providing a great birthday experience for the family! Oktoberfest is here and you did not disappoint. It really meant a lot to me how special tonight was and how it genuinely felt like a celebration. Prost!!
