I don’t even know where to begin. I am so very disappointed. For over 10 years, I have hosted our family’s Mother’s Day lunch at Josephines Gift shops and Tearoom. It became more than just a meal; it was a beloved tradition, a day full of laughter, memories, shopping, and love shared across generations of women in our family. Today, I was told that Josephine’s will no longer accommodate my family. No exceptions, no room for discussion, no appreciation of our years of loyalty — just the end of something that meant so much to us. My heart breaks most for our little girls — the ones who have grown up watching their moms, aunts, and grandmothers attend this special day, waiting eagerly for their turn to join the table. The excitement, the dresses, the hats, the joy — all gone. I never imagined that a place tied to so many beautiful memories would close the door on us without hesitation. It’s not just disappointing — it’s deeply saddening. We didn’t just lose a reservation… we lost a little piece of our family’s story.

My daughter and I attempt to visit Josephine's twice a year when she comes home from Wisconsin. We love the atmosphere and the food is usually delicious. We were there December 7th with a 1:30 reservation. After we were seated our server was right there and took our drink orders then returned for the food orders. We had to return one of the drinks as there was something white floating in the glass of Dr. Pepper. At 230 (45 minutes or so after we ordered our food) our server returned and we were told there was no soup available. The lobster bisque is what we came for (2 hour and 3 minute drive). We were told we could substitue pasta or fruit which we did. Later we observed other servers carrying soup to other tables. I ordered the Ham Special. It was to be served on a homemade onion roll with mayo & Freddi Joe's special mustard sauce, ham and cheese. My sandwiches was served on two dinner rolls, appeared to have 1 shred of cheese, maybe mayo, but no mustard and was rather blah. The dinner roll was ok, but was soggy. so I only ate the ham. On the positive side, my grandson thinks the kids toasted cheese sandwich is the best of anywhere else in the world, so he enjoyed his meal. My daughters club was ok, but not up to it's usual standard. I felt sorry for our server. I also realize the Tea Room was very busy. She did the best she could and comped my daughter's dessert. I am hoping there were behind the scene issues that were an unusual occurance on that day and hope next year when my daughter comes we will receive the service we expected and the food we ordered as we always have in the past.

Our waitress was rude and not friendly at all until it was time for us to leave. I guess she wanted a good tip for mediocre service. The food was good even though our lobster bisque was just warm and not hot.

Great place. I would highly recommend. Food is awesome, very delicious. The shops are great. A lot of nice unique items including discounted items.

This place is simply fantastic! The atmosphere is wonderful, the decor is amazing, and the food is to die for. The desert tray is Heavenly. Love going here. ❤

Food was tasty and plentiful and our server Beth was very friendly and helpful with our selections. We truly enjoyed the beautifully decorated gift shops and gift shop personal were fabulous and fun. Rates a repeat visit!

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! We only make it a couple of times of year, but it is a real treat each time. It is a soup and sandwich place with the most amazing desserts in a 200-mile radius. EVERYTHING is homemade, including the bread for the sandwiches. The service was excellent! Sharing the receipt because we got so much good quality food for the price. Lobster bisque was full of lobster. Roast beef sandwich was a special day, and it would melt in your mouth.
