Aerie's Resort in Grafton Illinois

July 4th weekend was my first time staying here and I will absolutely be back the rooms are very cozy and comfy I had amazing service in the terrace from Rachel and Katlyn the Manager introduced herself to me and was so kind making me feel even more welcome the rides are also part of the amazing experience the food was fresh and delicious if I could give a stars I would. I came here to recharge from my work grind and it absolutely paid off

Furniture a little dated but still comfy and cute, bed was very comfortable. I chose a wooded view and it was nice to be one with nature. Tv in the room is small and there isn't any cable but is compatible for HDMI connection. Rooms come with complimentary robes which was nice. Loved the jetted tub big enough for two.

Aeries is ALWAYS a favorite place to stop after hiking for a glass of wine Charcuterie and flatbread. We LOVE the views, the food is always good, and just the overall vibe. We love the chairlift, and the scenery.

We opted to stay at one of the terrace rooms. The rooms are not over the top, but are clean, and we're a decent option. We plan to try one of the other rooms within their resort in the future. Check in was easy. We went up for breakfast on a Sunday morning, and the service was sub par. The waitresses were nice, but we're not quick to refill our coffee, and the place had 6-8 tables (some had 8ppl each) but the wait for the food was ridiculous. We waited over 35 min for food. It was even a concern about being late for our check-out. One of the waitresses DID make sure to call down for us to make sure we didnt get charged for a late check-out, but the wait for food was over the top too long.

The rooms were very outdated, and with the restaurant closing at 7 on a Saturday we had to drive down the big hill to get dinner. The views were nice, and the location was pretty. The front reception mentioned there was parking in front of the hotel room, but im not sure if she had ever been up there because it was right along side the cliff, and there was no way I was parking my car there. There was parking in the back of the building that we utilized. I dont think I would go back unless they do some upgrading.

We were 5-6 families on our fall trip. We got to the base and took the gondola’s to the top (Charges $12/head).
Restaurant offers very nice views and ambience. They have outdoor sitting as well.
Restaurant was full when we reached, so we were told to wait 25-30minutes (if wanting a big table). Staff managed to get us a table as on suggested time. The staff however looked in all chaos mode and Server took almost 10mints to attend us. They had live music which was very nice.

Food/Drinks - our food came out on in about 15mints. The spinach artichoke dip & fireball were okay. Wouldn’t rate their Pizza’s highly.
Server got us a wrong wine, and said that’s what we ordered for 😅 but then got us what we had ordered.

Overall - great ambiance. Service & Food is okay.

Awful! Go somewhere else.

I can’t say enough great things about this wonderful place and the people who run it! The lift and the surroundings made for a beautiful afternoon. The food and our waitress were perfect! On the ride down I dropped a purse and a wonderful gentleman named Alex worked hard on that steep slope to help us find it. Thanks for a memorable day Aeries!!

This is a frustrating experience. The only way you can get to the restaurant is to pay for the gondola. The wine list is not great and I overpayed for a bottle of wine that ended up having a screw top. The menu was basic and the wings we got made me nauseous. 10/10 not coming back. They also have a wasp issue in their outdoor seating. We were constantly dealing with yellow jackets. And they seem to think they are a hotspot for teenagers. It was really weird how many young people that were there.

Not a good experience. There’s a reason it has such bad reviews on Yelp, Google, Trip Advisor etc Very disappointed.

Overly priced, painfully slow food service, a few of our meals arrived cold, the plates were brought at different times, leaving 2 hrs between first plates and last plates. Kinda stunk for people who were super hungry and had to watch everyone else eat AND even harder when they brought out wrong plates 4x. Almost wanted to say “yes, that’s mine” just to finally be able to eat.

The only way up to the top is in the gondolas. There is a road, but it’s gated for the people who pay to stay there. We were hoping to be able to drop off my elderly parents and my niece (who is afraid of heights). Keep in mind it’s pricey at $12 a head) If you took the ferry, add another $18.

Manager is grumpy, rude, unprofessional, unapologetic and needs a nap.

Aeries Resort is the most incredible place, I have experienced in a very long time. Every employee was very kind and attentive. The
pricing for the sky lift and the alpine coaster were very reasonable and so much fun! Highly recommend!

Such a disappointment. Definitely won’t be back. Overpriced, cold food, too many kitchen mix-ups and very, very long wait. And looking at other reviews, we aren’t the only ones who waited more than 2 hours for our family to receive their meals! Half of us were finished by the time the last 3 plates arrived. Unacceptable. Owner and manager have horrible attitudes. 3+ hours for all meals to be served and to receive our bill. No apology. Mr. Owner- you know darn well if you and your family personally experienced these same issues at another restaurant you’d feel the same as we do. Karma, Jeff. Karma.

My bartenders Mitch & Andrew should get a raise!!! Them guys was the best making sure my needs where satisfied!!!
