Sweet Basil Cafe of Hanover Park

Ordere rib eyed steak with sunny side up egg and hash brown potato... so that peace of meat that they bring me was not rib yey steak, it was 1 dollar steak from fresh market. Egg was overfried on the bottom and underfried on the top, pota5o was more or less ok, bu5 i still can smell oil that they used for pan on it. Tomato in salad was realy old. Coffe was good. Service was fine. Overall for steak, 2 coffee, benedict, and cesar salad we paid 79$ +tips. They have a lot of food in menu, maybe thats why quality of food wish to be better, or maybe it was just our unlucky expiriance.

Don’t listen to the negative reviews, we didn’t and glad to try it.wanted to try it as it was close to our house. The service was as good as the food. The amount of food for the price was excellent. You won’t be disappointed, trust me.
Update: Sunday 11/24/24 this is now the fourth time being here and same results if not better. Had my birthday family brunch here. Was able to make reservation’s for 14 people, showed up table set and ready. All the food was hot and served all at one time. What a wonderful experience thank you so much Maria !!!! And our server Victor 😃

This is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to, they have a lovely pet patio and giant positions the servers are very nice and respectful and also really helpful

I asked them to change the channel on the tv and they said no, they only get the one channel (Fox News). They also refused to turn it off. Ooookay.... 🤨

She said they were very sorry I felt this way.

The food is excellent here, but unfortunately, they care more about showing Fox News on their television than making sure their patrons feel safe in their establishment. Not only did they refuse to turn it off, the person ringing us out on the way out was incredibly rude about it.

We won't be returning, nor will we encourage anyone to go. Take your money elsewhere.

Our first time at this place but won't be our last. Unbelievable experience. The food was awesome. The portions were huge. The prices were very reasonable. We couldn't even finish the food. Our server, Victoria was very attentive, friendly and patient. The atmosphere was very family oriented, clean and very cozy. They deserve 10 stars. Highly recommend.

We were very disappointed the food was not good my son’s crêpes were just OK. My granddaughter had the Mickey Mouse pancake personally way too big for a child.
I had eggs Benedict English muffin is very soggy hardly any Canadian bacon on it. The hollandaise sauce was not hollandaise sauce. For the amount Of money that is charged it should be perfect. We will not be going back. I feel the price is way too expensive for Streamwood.
The server was a wonderful young lady.

Not the greatest breakfast place around. The portions are large, but for the price and quality, I’d recommend other local places. We received one wrong meal, and it had a hair in it. Also the gluten free pancakes were so dry I could not eat them even with butter and syrup. They crumbled when you would try to pick them up.

For a place that's supposed to be serving specialty coffees they certainly don't know that coffee should be hot. I've been here twice and both times served warm coffee. Even the warm ups were not warm enough. I probably won't be back. Sad... I wanted to like the place.

We love eating at Sweet Basil. The food is always fresh and plentiful. The wait staff are always friendly and informative. The restaurant is always clean. The food portions are enough for 2 to eat.

The wife and I stopped by tonight and enjoyed, fried pickles, salad, and the BLT club. The portion sizes were big, and the overall visit was a good value. The service was polite and very fast. We enjoyed our experience, highly recommended.

Update, we went in for breakfast and enjoyed great service, food and atmosphere! We are turning into regulars here and plan to be back in the near future.

New update, wife and two friends went to have lunch today. Everything was excellent, including the service! Five stars from us!
