Cute restaurant with great service. They were open on Thanksgiving day with their regular menu, just what we wanted. Enjoyed our lunch, but will order from their breakfast menu next time because those items seem to be their specialty. With so many good restaurants in Galena, it makes it hard to choose! Try them for breakfast!

This place has great service, food and polite staff. We were lead to our table, had our drinks in no time and our orders taken in minutes. The chorizo skillet was the highlight of our trip as far as the meals.

Charlie's Place is one of the few breakfast lunch restaurants in downtown Galena that open before 12:30 pm on a Saturday. It's a fast-paced diner style eatery with a huge menu for breakfast and lunch. Meals are enormous. Can be shared easily.
Service is efficient, friendly and fast. Servers are attentive and speedy. Prices in Galena are generally very high; prices in Charlie's we're reasonable for Galena. We shared a cheesesteak which was pretty good.
We got seated quickly around 11:00 a.m. but a long line formed by 11: 15 am.

After many years of going to Galena , today I found my go to breakfast restaurant. Some may say it's a tad expensive. I say bring a friend because you'll need help eating your portion. I had biscuits and gravy with 2 pancakes. Biscuits and gravy are home made, NOT a gravy sauce. A lot of sausage pieces . Pancakes the size of your plate, and so good. I couldn't finish them, SO I TOOK THEM HOME!. If you finish your breakfast you can walk around town until dinner. You'll be too full for lunch. I wish Charlie's was closer to my house.
