Barefoot Restaurant has a nice, laid-back atmosphere and beautiful views of the Illinois River. There’s also a great play area for the kids, which makes it a perfect spot for families.

We stopped in today for the first time. It was after the dinner rush close to closing. The staff was very friendly. We had the pork chops family style and the catfish fritter dinner. Both were delicious and arrived in a reasonable time. The staff checked on us frequently and made sure we were taken care of. Great comfort food. It was exactly what we were expecting. I grew up going to the original location when I lived in jerseyville, and the new location does a good job of carrying the same vibes. The menu has lots of choices and the prices are very reasonable. Great job bringing it back, and I’ll definitely be back when I am back in the area.
Almost forgot to mention the new location is great for river and bridge views. Lucky to have barges passing by and watching the bridge being raised and lowered.

The food was good it was all you can eat crab legs service was terrible all kinds of waitress running around but no one came back to ask us if we need more crab legs or anything very pricey for not get all we could eat didn't even try to make it right when we went to pay

Had a yummy lunch at barefoot on a Sunday. I ordered a Roquefort salad and catfish fritters (sans bread). The food came out so quickly, our waitress kept our drinks filled, and you can’t beat the prices. My dad ordered a cheeseburger which he said was enjoyable.

This was my first time at the new location and what a great experience. The food is better than I ever remember (and I'm old enough to remember going to the Barefoot barefoot 50 years ago!). The portions are really generous and the staff was super friendly. It was a nice day so we sat outside and watched the river. We will definitely be going back!

This was our first time to dine at this restaurant. We ordered catfish fritters, fries, and salad. We ordered a appetizer which came with our meal. Our salad was small and the dressing was watery. Service not good. The fish had no taste.
The service is usually pretty good (unless swamped)
The food is decent, but hit or miss lately. They need to focus on food quality.

Our family hadn't been to the Barefoot Restaurant in Hardin for years. The new owners Brian & Cathy have done a tremendous job on bringing the old Barefoot back to life. The chicken had that same crispy coating and juicy flavor as I remembered. Same great house dressing on the salad. The rest of the family had hamburgers, fries and we all split mushrooms and onion rings as appetizers. The couple next to us ordered the whole catfish and it barely fit on the dinner plate. They even have a breakfast buffet on Saturday & Sunday mornings and a pizza, pasta & salad buffet beginning at 4 pm. There is also an outdoor deck and bar overlooking the Illinois River. The perfect place to have one of their frozen signature drinks and some appetizers. The food prices are very reasonable! Take the time this weekend to drive your family through "God's Country" - Calhoun County, Illinois for some really good food. You will LOVE the New Barefoot Restaurant!
