Sun Eng's Chinese

Went to Sun Engs for around 30 years or so. The Food was fantastic never had any issues, and I went once after the change and I was underwhelmed by the changes in the recipes and other reviews seem the same. So Unless they change back and the reviews reflect improvement that was a one and done and now I need to find a new spot to call my own as this one has ran its course. Keep in mind this visit was months ago right after the change as the sign was still for the previous place and it may have gotten better but I’m not taking a chance

The atmosphere is your typical Chinese restaurant. They are newly owned. We have ordered the Won Ton Soup, Crab Ragoon, Egg Rolls, Combination Lo Mein……..all delicious! The seasoning of the meat in the won ton, the broth very good! I would like to see more veges in the soup, but it is still delicious. Crab Ragoon is the tastiest I’ve had and I’ve eaten CR many times. Combination Lo Mein, thumbs up??. Seasoned nicely. The shrimp was a nice size, chicken and beef slices as well. The taste of the proteins were good. It actually tasted like beef, chicken and shrimp!Now the best for last…the egg rolls! I have been searching everywhere for egg rolls that don’t taste like a cabbage roll. They have peanut butter in their egg rolls and what a yummy welcome! Back in the day, most added the peanut butter, but due to allergies many restaurants stopped adding peanut butter ☹️. Overall, Sun Eng’s is very good. Worth the try.

Absolutely delicious! We ordered here for the first time last night and got a variety of dishes. Everything arrived quickly and all 4 of us raved about the dishes. We ordered S&S Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Pork Fried rice and crab Rangoon-they were all were fantastic. Highly recommend and ordering again soon.

Been going here for 25 years and the new owner, has very bad food the new owner changed everything and the food has a very bad smell I don’t know why the new owner changed everything when for 30 years it’s been working fine, what a shame the food is terrible not even the soup or egg rolls are good,

This lady kept asking me for a tip and the food was terrible. People should never ask for a tip the customer will never come back.

I'm new to the area I'll have to come in and try your food I read all the reviews and I'll make my own decisions. I'll let everybody know what my review will be

New management? Place is filthy and hot! Used to have good food. We went in to dine inside and there was no air condition on in the middle of August. So we decided to order to go. It took 45 minutes for 3 entrees and 4 egg rolls. The egg rolls were cold and not cooked fully. Had to cook in my oven.I think the same woman who took our order also cooks the food. Egg rolls now taste like they put tuna in a can in there.The chair rails and legs are full of caked on dust and food. Inside the display cabinet where they keep cookies is very dirty. Never again.

I’ve been happily enjoying the food here for 10 years with no complaints, and have always told people that Sun Engs has the best Chinese food on the north side. I’ve moved much further up north over the years but occasionally take the 50 minute drive to Sun Engs just to get amazing Chinese food.Today however I get my usual order and they’ve changed the whole recipe! It went from the best Chinese food in the area to just average, wasn’t bad.I’m leaving 5 stars out of respect as a long time customer because I don’t want to hurt the business as the owners and staff are great people. My intention is only to convey that the original recipe was perfect in hopes other long time customers feel the same way.

First time diner for take out. Mongolian beef had a funny aftertaste. It was apparent that there was no care in the preparation of the dish. Egg roll was ok but no sauces were in the bag. I guess they don’t care about making an impression for a new customer.

Been going here for over 20 years. One of the only places I will eat Chinese at!

I went here last nite , I ordered large shrimp fried rice, gravy on the side, and a vegetable egg roll. It was so good
