Bernices Barbeque Bar & Grill

This is one of the best Bar and Grill I've been to in a long time. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fabulous. I would recommend Bernice's to anyone! Thank you for hosting my dad's 80th birthday celebration

To start, I paid 2 different prices for the same drink..even after tipping 3.00 for the first drink that cost $13. Then the sane drink costs 15.90. If you have to use the bathroom after the other side closes.. you are out of luck. Paid $60 for me alone, not counting the other 3 people who all spent over $100 . We try and use the restroom before leaving and was told No...mind they are still open and taking karaoke songs orders. Ridiculous!

I went for Happy Hour with my husband…it is a great date night spot! The service was phenomenal, the atmosphere is grown and sexy! We ordered catfish, greens, dirty rice, a cheeseburger/ fries and baked beans as well as a lemon drop and a margarita. I would go back for the catfish and greens and well as the cheeseburger. They have a nice patio. They played some good music so it was a nice vibe.

Bernice’s Barbeque Bar and Grill is definitely a unique and positive experience. I have never been to a restaurant (a Barbeque one) that was so elegantly decorated. Its spewing red decor gives it a "speakeasy" vibe and the food was a 5 out of 5. I had the smoked chicken Tips, baked beans and fried string beans. Bonus, there is an heated outdoor patio that is completely enclosed with a stage, and bar that is draped in white fabrics, custom upholstered booths, tvs and plenty of room. If you're looking for a place to go visit that has great music, vibes and food, Bernice’s Barbeque and Grill is the place to be.

Came here for our first time yesterday (10/25/25). All I can say the food was amazing. We ordered turkey tip, chicken tips, catfish, turkey legs and dirty rice with fries and spaghetti. The drive was worth the trip. We will definitely come back again!!!!Thank you ladies for the great experience.

Placed my order only to be told 10 minutes later that the smoker was not ready. Based on these reviews I'm glad I got my money back.

I visited on a Friday around 4 pm, with only about four tables seated, so I sat alone at the bar. Later, three other people came to the bar but left after not being served, and a large party of nine did the same.

Despite the light crowd, it took over 30 minutes just to get my drink order taken and another 15 minutes to actually receive it. My food order wasn’t placed until nearly 45 minutes after I sat down. Many items on the drink menu were unavailable, and the drinks themselves were small and only half-filled.

On a positive note, the food arrived quickly once ordered. I tried the pork rib tips, hot links, and fried chicken, which had generous portions and decent flavors. However, if you plan to visit, I’d suggest skipping the bar. Service is slow, drinks are tiny and overpriced, and the TikTok videos and reviews don’t quite match the experience. Save yourself the hassle by ordering carryout—or try Wilma’s in Dolton instead. See below for a pic of my $15 margarita: it came half-full, with a cocktail straw bigger than the cup.

Was able to listen to house music, what a treat from DJ DA WREK great atmosphere, lounge located in the back of restaurant with nice size patio. You can eat, drink, and be merry!

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time and I was highly impressed. The food was very good (make sure you try the smoked chicken wings), the atmosphere was a vibe, and the music was just what I needed. I'll be back!!!! #RhythmandRomance #

I was disappointed in the food. I paid $60 for two dinners and it was not worth it. I had chicken tips and my husband had rib tips and hot link. His tips were dry and overcooked. They were hard abd unchewable. I love to patronize African American establishments , but they have work to do. The atmosphere is clean. The establishment is very pretty ? and well decorated. The staff is friendly. The high prices don't match the flavor of the food. My dirty rice was sticky and my collard greens tasted burnt ?

The place is beautiful but they frequently run out of items. I ordered turkey tips and got some over cooked turkey chops that were hard and inedible. Please do better.

I was so surprised at how tender and flavorful the ribs were. The ambience was warm and inviting and the servers were pleasant. I even won $600 on the slots on my way out.
