My first time here !!! Walked in and asked pit master what should I have? Without skipping a beat says a HUNGRY MAN special. I agreed. As a teen my parents would order BBQ from the many local BBQ places throughout Chicagoland. To the west there were Rib Barzaar, Rib Supreme, Joe's, Uncle Remus etc, to the north Farmer's Brown etc, to the south Lem's, etc. When it came to Joe's, my parents would by pass Joe's. I would go, mom, dad, let's try that Joe's place. They would always refuse. Fast forward, as an adult with my own family within my chosen community there is a Joe's. For nostalgic reasons I decided to try Joe's (Hillside) let's just say now i understand why my parents chose not to order Joe's BBQ back in the day. Joe's is most definitely a hit or miss. (Joe's Fish sticks are questionable).

I ordered 6 wings with mild sauce, they were old. I called and complained they told me to come back that order was not good the fries taste like they were soaked in grease. I will not support Joe's BBQ

Always a good experience when I go in to pick up my call in order, food is hot and ready to go! Service is always on point and the vibe is amazing! True Chicago spot outside of Chicago! Reminds u of back in the day when Chicago was the place to be!
I ordered the three-piece chicken meal and was really disappointed. The chicken had a strong, unpleasant smell and tasted off — almost sour/bloody scent. My stomach hurts as I write this review. One of the pieces even appeared undercooked and had visible blood inside. I expected much better quality and food safety. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

Ordered a large shrimp dinner & an extra order of fries….The shrimp was nasty..fries was dead…no bread …looked like a small instead of a large…& on my order of fries???… they decided THEMSELVES !!!!!…to pour bbq sauce all over it & I DIDNT REQUEST IT!…I will never order any food from this place ever again!!!!..EVER!!!!

I went up there at 8:30 I ordered 8 wings hit home it was only 5, then a large tip cut small and I told them 8 times please cut it small got home pieces big ass hell I know yall was closing but all that money I just spent and I’m disappointed. Can’t call them back cause now they are close

This will be the last time I spend my money here I ordered a large tip and it was small serving for the amount, and the French fries were hotter than the tips Literally colder than room temperature.
Unless you enjoy being shorted on your order DO NOT come here. Every time I come items are missing and I have to beg for my proper order. It's gone downhill over the years to where now this is the last place anyone hungry should go. Infuriating isn't a strong enough word.

Order Large Combo and 3wings, The older lady that took the order was very nice, but chicken was cooked already just sitting there and then covered with mild sauce. The large Combo had No tips or should I say about 3 rib tips and shredded pieces of meat but mainly sausage and old fries in both order for 28.00 dollars WTH did I pay for I live about 35 mins away from this location. Will not return to this location for food. It’s ashame you can’t support your own and Joe’s been in business for so many years to let his employees serve us B.S Please don’t waste your time going to this Location.
