I ended up buying 3 days worth of meals when I only stopped in for a slice of pizza !From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by Carmela, who was incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and informative. She guided me through the menu, which boasts an array of Italian classics, all made with the highest quality ingredients.What sets Altamura Pizza apart is their dedication to authenticity. The crusts are imported directly from the Puglia region in southern Italy, milled from world-renowned durum semolina wheat. Hand-tossed and stone-baked by Italian Pizzaioli, the pizza crust is a testament to the culinary artistry that goes into every dish.The flavors were nothing short of amazing—each bite was a journey to southern Italy. The authenticity doesn't stop at the pizza; they also offer gluten-free options and charcuterie boards that are just as delightful.It's rare to find places run with such love and care these days. Seriously the people here are the nicest. They chatted with my family for a while, made us DELICIOUS pizza, and gave us free samples of wonderful gelato. It's one of those places that you may not notice as it's amongst a lot of other places in downtown Hinsdale, but it's a gem. Highly recommend. The "five fromage" pizza (I think that's the name) was excellent.I will say- my Margarita pizza was a little burnt. It still tasted good, hence the 5 stars, but I could see some people being turned off by that. If you don't like crispy/a little burn, I'd recommend telling them that so they don't cook it as long.

We can’t get any other pizza after Altamura. It’s just that good. Never feel bloated or guilty eating Alttamura. The staff is the best in town.
I stopped in for the first time yesterday. The staff was amazing, offered suggestions, made great conversation, and was super friendly. I built my own pizza and the ingredients were all fresh and delicious. I also ordered the arancini and they were the best I've had in the Chicagoland area.

Pizza was flavorless not even the sauce tasted like anything, there was not enough cheese on "the clare" which is only basil sauce and cheese and somehow there was still no flavor the only good thing was the crunch, so just save yourself the time and skip the place. Cute small ambiance and place to eat outside. The cashiers and workers were all young and honestly all looked lost.

Tried Altamura for the first time yesterday (3/28/23) and I cannot say enough about my experience. Carmela was a saint and treated us with the best customer service you could ask for. As for the pizza, I was ecstatic with what I was tasting for the first time. The pizza has a light sauce that is impactful, but not too heavy and dominates the pie. The ingredients are all fresh and REAL. The crust had that signature crunch that most pizza places want but can't achieve. All in all, ordering from Altamura is a proverbial slam dunk in the pizza game.

I have been a type 1 diabetic for most of my life. Eating pizza can be frustrating with this disease, as the digestion of the food can make adjusting insulin levels difficult. This pizza, however, does not cause delayed hyperglycemia (weird, I know). You can bolus and still be ok at 3am. lol. In addition to this, the taste is amazing (buy the pesto) and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Our family loves getting this pizza and would suggest that you join the club :)
