Let me start with a confession: I’m not exactly a French food guy. Give me a burger or a plate of kabobs and I’m happy. That said, we took my sister-in-law out for her birthday and this was her pick, so off to Toni Café we went—with an open mind and an empty stomach.
We ordered the egg sandwich, blueberry lemon French toast, La Dinde, quiche, and a few almond croissants. First off, major props to the staff for being great about our son’s allergies. Super patient, helpful, and reassuring, which immediately earns points in my book.
The egg sandwich was decent, but it didn’t really stand out compared to everything else we ordered. The real star of the show was the blueberry lemon French toast. Crispy on the outside, fluffy like a pillow on the inside, and just sweet enough to make you forget all your other life responsibilities for a few minutes. The almond croissants were next-level. My wife and I split one and nearly turned it into a competitive sport over the last bite 😂.
We didn’t personally try the quiche, but my sister-in-law gave it a thumbs up, so I’ll trust the birthday girl. I also had a honey lavender latte, which was decent, though I was hoping for more of that honey-lavender magic to come through.
All in all, even for someone who’s not big on French food, Toni Café won me over. Solid spot, great pastries, and definitely worth a visit.

Delicious bakery with some cafe seating. Tried a variety of items - from quiche to savory croissants and cake. Everything was tasty and well made.
I will now always stop here when I am nearby.

Toni’s is Hinsdale’s gem. They serve a delicious variety of foods from pastries to meals. I especially love their egg sandwich. Their potatoes are fabulous and oniony. There isn’t a bad item here and I definitely would come here for a great snack or meal!

What’s good? Cake with raspberry coulis. A “fall back” birthday dessert. Toni’s is small and mighty when it comes to fresh pastry, sandwiches, cookies and cakes. Usually busy but does not feel crowded. They’ve sort of captured a slightly euro feel in suburban Chicago.

I very much enjoyed your cake which was eaten tonight. Chocolate with mousse & jam filling. Delicious! Have not visited your bakery yet, bcuz my parents brought the cake for my child. Amazing!
Kudos, keep up the confectionary rhythm going!

Love this cafe! Everything is so good! We ordered a German chocolate cake and it was amazing.
Bought almond croissants which were excellent, fruit tarts looked great as well. Would recommend!
Such a timeless bakery in the heart of Hinsdale. Has been there for many, many years. Tasty pastries, cookie and cakes. Known for their chocolate chip cookie!

Very mediocre food and no senes of customer service, just in a hurry to serve and get to the next customer. even when the line isn't even long. it's good local joint to go to, as the options are limited, but over time getting more and more disappointed with lack of service. just fake smiles.
I'd like to see more pastries.
Small place, I understand.
I'll have to order a cake to make a better evaluation.

Great atmosphere, people are nice, coffee was great. Definitely worth going back to or going to if you’ve never tried their stuff. My Americano was so good. GO HERE!

I ordered a sandwich cold turkey and the bread was nice and crispy! Loved it, tastes like what my mom would make. The lemon bar was a bit eggy for my taste, but the tart, and cookies are definitely worth going back for. Be prepared to wait a bit if you go, seemed they were short staffed with only one person in the kitchen.

This is my childhood. My grandmother would take me here when I was little, when Marie’s was still in the name. I’d always come in for their frosted cookies. She passed away a few months ago and we got a big box of them. I was very happy, felt like home.
