lovely atmosphere, outstanding service, delicious food. highly recommend.
My family friends and I went to celebrate a birthday party. The staff were very professional, caring and respectful paying attention to detail. The restaurant was very clean the food and drinks are delicious. We had no reservations but they were kind enough to take care of the entire party, we would definitely go back.
It was decorated beautifully for the holidays and the group I was with was very excited to go. The service was a bit slow, but the most alarming part was how the manager/host handled us having hair in our food. We told him we didn’t want the appetizer because we found a hair. He walked away and came back asking to see the hair, what was the length color etc. It was extremely aggressive and confrontational. Sadly, we left because we felt so uncomfortable after the interaction.

We had reservations- they led us to a room to wait, ok- not a problem.
45 mins later and 2 hungry, well behaved kiddos- we said forget it! No apology, not even an offer of water! Decor is cute but manager- totally unprofessional!!! Never again- not worth it!

If you have children don’t even bother, the most rudest inconsiderate restaurant in Homer glen. I’ve never in my life been treated so disgustingly by a host. Waited 15 minutes before someone even bothered to come up and help us. It was 7:30 and we just wanted nachos and a drink. The host came up and said they’re “fully booked” and don’t allow kids after 9. It was 7:30. Garbage!

Horrible service
The owner told me an 1.5 hour wait for a group of three after telling him I have a kid. Then he told the group after me less wait time. Very unfriendly service.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant in Homer Glen. As a parent, I was appalled by the lack of consideration and courtesy shown to families with children. After waiting 15 minutes without any assistance, the host finally approached us, only to inform us that the restaurant was ‘fully booked’ and that children were not allowed after 9 PM. This interaction occurred at 7:30 PM, leaving us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I have never encountered such poor treatment from a host. I hope the management reconsiders their approach to customer service and family accommodations.
Great place to listen to good music, great food, and great service, best in HomerGlend by far!

Nothing spectacular with this place. Came with a group of friends for a birthday. I ordered an old fashioned from the bartender, only to be told they don’t have bitters. You’d think a whisky bar would have bitters, but I guess not this place. Then I asked for Clase Azul tequila to sip on, since it’s supposedly also a tequila bar, but they don’t carry that either. I was surprised when I asked for a Jack and Coke and was able to get that, though.
In response to the owner, this was after the open bar package was over and I was already paying for my drinks. But you already know that, since you checked my name against credit card transactions to see what I ordered.

Over the weekend I attended an amazing memorial party for a dear friend of mine. Rubi Agave made this last memory of her so special to everyone. Everything was perfect. I would highly recommend them. The food was amazing! The white sangria was so delicious! I can't wait to come back with my family for dinner. 10/10 Recommend!

Rubi Agave Latin Kitchen in Homer Glen, Illinois, provides an engaging dining experience with a mix of highlights and minor drawbacks. Here’s a detailed review based on my recent visit:
Upon entering Rubi Agave, the warm and lively atmosphere immediately draws you in. The decor is vibrant, reflecting a Latin flair that sets the mood for an enjoyable evening. The restaurant is clean but does feel a bit cluttered, possibly due to the numerous decorations and the large screen TVs playing music videos, which can be a bit overwhelming.
The service is one of the standout aspects of Rubi Agave. The staff is attentive and efficient, making sure that our dining experience was pleasant from start to finish. Our waitress was particularly quick, ensuring that we received our food promptly.
Speaking of food, the culinary offerings at Rubi Agave are impressive. The churrasco steak was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor and tenderness, making it a must-try for meat lovers. The bandeja paisa was also a hit, though the pork component could use some improvement. Nevertheless, the dish was hearty and satisfying. The pulpo con papas (octopus with potatoes) was another highlight – fantastically prepared and flavorful, it stood out as a unique and delicious option.
For dessert, the choco flan was fair. It had a decent balance of chocolate and flan, but it didn’t quite match the excellence of the main courses. On the beverage front, the giant bar offers a wide variety of drink choices, all reasonably priced at $11. This makes it a great spot for those looking to enjoy a drink with their meal.
One aspect that could be improved is the volume of the music. While it adds to the lively atmosphere, it might be a bit too loud for some diners’ tastes, making conversations a little challenging.
In summary, Rubi Agave Latin Kitchen is definitely worth a visit. The combination of excellent service, flavorful dishes, and a vibrant atmosphere make it a great choice for a night out. Just be prepared for a bit of noise and a somewhat cluttered space. The overall experience, including fair prices, ensures that you’ll leave satisfied and likely planning a return visit.

Very pleased with our first visit to this restaurant. The drinks are delicious and the food is even better! Try the Puerto Rican Lasagna or the fish tacos. You won’t regret it. And don’t skip out on dessert!
