Can’t miss this place if you exit on Dixie Highway in the south suburbs of Chicago. Long had been wanting to try this place after driving by it several times over a 3 year period. Today was the day. Let’s start with the clientele, since it was the most visible thing I noticed while waiting on my food. Based on where this place is situated, I was shocked at the lack of diversity inside this establishment, not a single person of color in here dining especially in a diverse suburb like Homewood. The food? Not bad, not great. I had the fettuccini with chicken, it lacked seasoning and flavor so I had to manually season it. The table bread needed help, appeared to be store bought and not freshly baked. The Cesar salad was drenched in dressing, but I dealt with it. Will I return? Probably not. Nice waitress, no complaints, the place just didn’t win me over, give it a try, you may get a different vibe than I did.

I had my sons communion party here a couple weeks ago and I have to say between the fabulous food and superior service I was blown away. We had the family style meal and everyone raved about how delicious everything was. We had the salad, Rigatoni, Sausage & Peppers with the most amazing potatoes and roasted chicken. I have been dining at Balagio for years and absolutely love the food, ambiance, service & staff. Everyone is amazing and I will continue to enjoy for many more years. Thank you for all you do to make the experience memorable!
