As long time patrons of 5Q, (literally my whole life) it pains me to give 3 stars when I want to give 5, but truly want to give one. The food is always ALWAYS P H E N O M E N A L. Always! Service is always usually so so so great, and Steve is so great and so caring of his customers. Good people all around! However, 3 occasions now we have been with the short girl Val and she is less than standard. So nice, but seems like nothing is going on in her head. First time we went for food and assigned to her it was fine. Not exceptional service at all, but fine, since she was new. Second time was months later for brunch and she was very lost and very slow the whole time. 3rd and final straw which is why I’m writing this, tonight’s experience. My dad got a table for us and I met him coming from work. She never came to the table and he had to walk up to the bar to order a drink. When I arrived, we sat for at least 12 minutes before she brought menus but just set them on the edge of our table and walked away without eye contact or conversation (we knew what we wanted already and could have ordered right then and there but she never acknowledged us). She brought the check to the table behind us and they left. Then someone else sat there and she took that groups order, but never came to us. The table on the other side of us also arrived after us and she took their order too. We waited about 25 minutes of no waitress before moving to another section. Mind you, other waitresses were noticing if we had empty drinks and filling our drinks. Val seems to have zero thoughts in her head. Love love love the food here and usually the service, but will definitely not be patronizing on her shifts especially because they pool tips and it’s not fair to the other ladies to do all the work and her still get tipped out.

A huge thank you to Steve and The Fifth Quarter Crew for the late-night pizza at our wedding—it was an absolute hit! After hours of dancing, celebrating, and soaking up all the love, it was exactly what everyone needed. Our guests are still raving about it, and honestly, it might have saved us all on the dance floor.
Your team helped keep the party going and our stomachs full, and the pizza was delicious, perfectly timed, and served with such care. It was the perfect touch to an unforgettable night, and we’re so grateful you were part of our celebration. Highly recommend if you want to add a fun, tasty, and memorable element to your wedding!

Nice neighborhood spot. Bartenders clearly know their regulars very well but also made me feel very welcome.

The staff and food was excellent. The owner was pretty rude about turning down a TV he turned up right next to our table sitting there with a one year old. Then when he finally turned it down made a point to barely adjust the volume. The table behind us thanked us for saying something at all. I will be avoiding this place due to current ownership, thanks Steve?

If I can give this zero stars I would. I've been a valued customer here. Grew up in Homewood and I've been going here since I was a kid. Me and my friend sat down at the bar and this older woman who worked behind the bar was EXTREMELY rude to us. I asked to see a menu and she refused to give me one until I ordered a drink. She then started to argue with me about ordering a drink until I finally told her I'd like a water. Then she told us she was going to rush us because they were busy (there were empty seats at the bar). She basically threw our drinks at us. We never saw her again. We left immediately after that. Another lady closed us out (she had short black hair) and she was really nice to us. But that older woman, forget it. Will NEVER come back here again.
