I can’t say enough good things about this joint. Clean, fast, efficient, friendly and probably the best beef this side of LakeShore Drive. The homemade giardiniera makes the whole thing come together. You need to get it on your sandwich. If not your really missing out on something special. I know beef sammiches, and this is the next you should be eating.

Today was our first time at Barger's. The hype is real. The Italian beef is seasoned perfectly without being too salty. The Italian sausage and sweet peppers are outstanding as well. I prefer a crusty Gonnella style bread and they forget the giardiniera on the the side. Still, this is one of the best beef sandwiches in Lake/McHenry counties. We can't wait to go back.

This place has the best Jardinera, Italian beef is amazing. It's served off the barge docked on a pier at the boat house. The boat house doesn't serve food. They post their hours as open till 8pm however if you want to eat here you'll need to go there before 7pm as they may run out of food. Great space to watch the sunset with a drink. The menu is limited to a few items, tried the Italian beef and nachos both are awesome.
