My Dad passed away 4 years ago today and he loved JR’s so much! It was a staple for his lunch the last two years of his life. To commemorate i went and got lunch there today. We have to travel to Chicago often and try to stop at different places to eat on the way home. We found this place in Kankakee yesterday. afterbreading some reviews, we decided to stop. The food was excellent! salad bar was cold, fresh and everything was good. soup was homemade and good. The chicken was excellent! restaurant was nice and clean and the waiter was very friendly and attentive. Give it a try!!!
Let me start off by saying this place is a hidden gem. I was referred by a coworker of mine and I was hesitant about coming at first but I’m absolutely glad I did.
