We have to travel to Chicago often and try to stop at different places to eat on the way home. We found this place in Kankakee yesterday. afterbreading some reviews, we decided to stop. The food was excellent! salad bar was cold, fresh and everything was good. soup was homemade and good. The chicken was excellent! restaurant was nice and clean and the waiter was very friendly and attentive. Give it a try!!!
Let me start off by saying this place is a hidden gem. I was referred by a coworker of mine and I was hesitant about coming at first but I’m absolutely glad I did. The staff was very welcoming and professional. I ordered the pot roast and 2 pieces of chicken thighs. The taste of the food exceeded my expectations. I could go on and on about this chicken joint. Delicious, big pieces of chicken cooked to order and wonderful salad bar. One of the FEW places where every salad was delicious. It was very charming inside. Almost an old-school diner feel. It's going to be a regular for my wife and I. By the way, it's a family run establishment, and our waitress was awesome.
