This bar was a lovely surprise! We were in the area, looking for a place to have an early dinner. As soon as my mother and I stepped inside, I saw this was a very special place. I love the original patterned tile floor, beautiful wood bar and so many other historical detail accents. The hamburger I ordered was one of the best I've ever had! When I mentioned that to the server, she shared that Cerno's burgers were named number one burgers in Illinois! I loved the ambiance of the place and wish I lived closer so I could visit often.

They have good food & great chicken. Their bar was imported from Belgium & made out of mahogany. Pabst Blue Ribbon had it built & shipped here in 1893 for the World Fair in Chicago. Pabst moved the bar to Kewanee in 1898 & the man who owned the restaurant at that time purchased it. It's worth stopping in to get a bite to eat & see this beautiful piece of history.
