They have good food & great chicken. Their bar was imported from Belgium & made out of mahogany. Pabst Blue Ribbon had it built & shipped here in 1893 for the World Fair in Chicago. Pabst moved the bar to Kewanee in 1898 & the man who owned the restaurant at that time purchased it. It's worth stopping in to get a bite to eat & see this beautiful piece of history.

The brisket sandwich is the best I've ever had, beyond excellent. Fries were super crispy and hot, perfectly cooked. Smash burger was delicious as well, according to my hubby. Friendly service, beautiful old bar back and quiet atmosphere, which is great at lunch. 10/10 would recommend and will return.

Service was horrible, waitress had an attitude because she was busy ( not our fault), we waited an hour for our food, never asked us for refills, fries on all of our plates were cold..
Hostess was rude and spent more time flipping her hair and walking around with an attitude than making sure guests felt welcome.
Sadly your food is good but partially cold by the time it came to our table! We will NOT be back nor will ever recommend your place to anyone.
I worked in the service industry my entire life and no matter how busy it was....I never made the guests feel unwelcome!

Food was good! Service was not so good…. Server was short and we saw her very little during our visit… I had ordered the special of the day and 20 minutes after ordering she came to tell me they were out of that dish… I reordered, then the most deadly or service failure happens, Now I say this as a former restaurant owner, they started brining our food out of the kitchen, literally, one puce at a time… I there were 6 of us, one guy got his burger then 11 minutes later got his fries… then every few minutes another persons dish would come then a side… after all the food was cold, no one was eating, as we came together we wanted to eat together, I instructed everyone to eat as my reorder had not shown up… I was so 5 were allowed to eat cold food and Eventually, I ate alone… the bill wasn’t terrible expensive less than $100 (4 adults 2 children) and of course we would never deprive the server of a fair tip because of poor management and poor planning by management. I hope the leaders take some time to organize their kitchen staff because, even though this seems scathing, it is a great place and the food was good as well! We will return. Good Luck,

The food and service were fantastic but the real star is the 1898 backbar! Atmosphere oozing from everywhere. $1 PBRs and our server bent over backwards to make sure our visit was perfect!
