Had their Sunday brunch. The atmosphere is wonderful and so is the service. I will say I was a little disappointed with the hash and eggs but other times I’ve had their dinner and was very impressed! Good brunch place overall and can accommodate a large party.

Food was just OK. If I'm going to pay $20 for a brisket sandwich, I expect it to be piled with beef... The pickles and jalapeños were great and added to the flavor, but the portion was lacking. The burger was just OK, nothing special that warranted the price either.
The service was almost nonexistent. There was only one server and she was more engaged with the couple at the bar. All in all, a disappointing experience.

Visited here on vacation and the staff could not have been more accommodating. Catered for a table of 8 with multiple dietary requirements and severe allergies easily.
Waiter with the Death Cab shirt was amazing, they recommended the Salmon and Wagyu sliders. Both hit so hard.

When they opened the menu was fantastic and thank goodness b/c in 10 years it's barely changed-although the quality of the dishes drastically dropped off when they lost their initial chef. Because it's local I really want to love it but food is inconsistent, trending toward mediocre. Even something like their shepherds pie which is premade and has a consistently good flavor is almost never actually heated adequately. Perpetually disappointing and not worth the money. The most consistent part of going there is how habitually terrible the service is and how long it takes to get the meal or the check. I’m willing to give two stars b/c I’ve never actually gotten food poisoning here. However, my check was $100 for two people eating something worse than reheating leftovers we already paid for.

Service is abysmal, unreliable. Don’t come in hungry, you will wait an hour to eat.
Food is disappointing and bland. The salmon is tasteless, the broth it’s floating in is water. The Sheppard pie came out warm on the edges and cold on the middle.
We’ve given this place a few tries and it always has the same issues. We paid over $100 for two people to be very disappointed - a glass of wine and a cider, a bowl of soup and two entrees. This is not good.

I like Maevery. Food is prepared with fresh, quality provisions. Never disappointed. I love their cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, and bread pudding. Fries are yummy. Minus one star for service for the grumpy gal who recently took my carry-out order. Was grumpy over the phone and in person. Haven't experienced that at Maevery before.

Solid, tasty pub grub and friendly staff make this a good choice in Lake Bluff. Just be forwarned that it's bit pricey for what you get. I guess that can't be helped in an expensive area.
