Used to be an amazing place, but quality has definitely deteriorated. Food not as good and prices seem to have gone up significantly. Place also could use some TLC, seems a bit worn.
We used to live in Libertyville and came here all the time. Moved into the city in 2019 but still made the trip, albeit not as often. We always loved their tacos; the ingredients were fresh and flavorful and the quality was superb.We stopped by this week and it was definitely not the same. The steak was ok but it tasted exactly like the kind you can get at any other taco place. I can’t explain it except to say the magic was missing. Gone was that unique appeal that had us craving...
We have been big fans of The Otherdoor until today. First off, no guac, at a taco place - they were out (out of some salsas as well). Second, service: one person to serve and act as cashier. Third, the food has gotten skimpier and the flavor/quality has declined, significantly. We used to make a special trek to Lake Bluff to eat here, but now I don't think that will happen again. There are better options.
