If you can imagine a Wisconsin Supper Club (good food all around) married to a classic sports bar (TVs and good drinks with decent pours) right on a nice-sized lake, you'll get an idea of what Fairmont Shores is like. The first thing that strikes you when you enter is the crowded and noisy large single room with a square bar dominating the center, all with a pleasant welcoming neighborhood feel. This restaurant had unbeatable ambiance: inside with a wall of windows looking out over Fox Lake with the sun setting in the evening, and outside with a lakeside patio deck available when the weather co-operates. We started with cocktails and beer, all nicely brought off - routinely 4 star stuff. For appetizers we tried the Mozzarella Sticks (5 star cheese sticks nicely breaded and done just enough to get the cheese softened) and the Bruschetta (a 4 star offering with a nice baguette with all the toppings and a nice balsamic glaze). For mains, and since we were here on Friday: two of our party had the all-you-can-eat fish fry with a choice of fish (our selection was 4 star stuff, nicely fried white fish); another in our party had the grilled salmon (a nice 3 star offering of salmon - a hair overdone - served with hushpuppies, and fries or a baked potato): and what the last in our party had was probably a wrap (?). Service was on point: they had lots of servers, quick food preparation and delivery from the kitchen, and an active full-service bar. You may want to make reservations so you are not disappointed ... this place gets crowded fast, especially on weekends. And don't forget the standouts here: all-you-can eat Fish Fry Fridays, and Sunday Brunch from Easter to Labor Day. If you are out this way, you have to give this place a try.

Boy was I hangry! This was our first time going to this restaurant. A restaurant on the water, nice ambiance with the sun over the lake. It was a bit loud. We arrived at about 6:45pm and were seated on the right side toward the water, in the last booth (with tables all on the left). The waitress came over pretty quick and took our drink order. I ordered a soda and my husband ordered a manhattan straight up. The waitress retuned with our drinks with a manhattan on the rocks. Ok thats fine, we order our dinner I'm having the meatloaf and the onion soup and my husband the special, the fish fry. The soup arrives about 10 minutes later -not hot -ok but our dinner where is that!? The table across from us was served. They were seated about 10 minutes after we were. We waited and waited. It was now 40 minutes later pand the last table is getting a second helping of fish and the table behind it is also getting several seconds of fish. The sun had now set and my husband said lets give it till 7:45 pm if our food doesn't arrive we will leave. We have NEVER done that before. We were still waiting, when the table to the side received 4 second helpings of the fish and the table that came in 10 minutes after us got 2 second helpings of fish. It was now one hour after we arrived no food we left and paid the hostess at the front desk for our drinks and the soup and walked out. This is a great place if you want to order your lunch and receive it at dinner or order your dinner like us and receive it for breakfast. It was ridiculous.

I love this place for their AYCE fish-fry Fridays. They also have amazing beans & rice as well as hushpuppies. Annie is by far the best server in the place, 5-stars for her service. There is at least one server that would get a 0-star review for her service, I don't really remember her name. Everyone else there seems to provide high 3-4 star service. I haven't stopped in for any other meals. So, the food review is specific to the meal described. The place can get a bit crowded and loud, but what can you expect from a place with great food and service. That said, there has really only been one occasion that it was overwhelming crowed when I've gone.Parking: You really gotta get there before the dinner rush, otherwise you might not fine parking. They really don't seem to have enough space to accommodate the amount of parties they can fit inside the establishment.

The fish fry is great and I can't get enough of their Southern Avocado BLT. The French Fries and hush puppies are awesome, My husband has tried nearly everything on the menu and loves it all. The only downside is the often lack of parking.

Dreadful lobster mac and cheese. The cheese sauce seemed like either Cheez Whiz or Velveeta. Great evening with friends but less than desirable food.

Bar and Grill that sits on Fox Lake, tried it for Stopped in for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. Seems to have plenty of tables and also outdoor seating. I had the seafood jambalaya (excellent) and my wife had the meatloaf stack, she loved it and had to bring more than half home. I’ll recommend this place to family and friends! Only reason for 4 stars is I need to try it again before giving it 5 stars.

Great little lakefront place. It is off the beaten path, which is cool! Great views. Our server was awesome, I don't remember her name but she was a nanny and was super friendly and patient with my kids.Tuesday is trivia night which is fun! The food was good, the slider appetizer was delicious! The pretzel was good too, but I like mine with salt. The patio looks awesome for summer dining, can't wait to try that!

Food and service is great! The hostess is the nicest person! We have never had a bad meal there. Nice place to bring the family. Gets busy on Fridays and Saturdays. Take away too.

Their blood Mary's and food were excellent for going for our 1st time. We'll definitely be going back to try other dishes.

When a friend invited me out for lobster mac and cheese I was pretty excited. I haven't had a good one in many years and sadly I still haven't had a good one in many years. To be fair, the pasta was cooked well and the lobster itself...if that is what it really was...seemed alright. But the cheese sauce. Oh the cheese sauce how bad can you get? I so wanted a creamy gooey cheesy goodness but what I got seemed closer to Cheez Whiz. Don't get me wrong, Cheez Whiz is great on an authentic Philly Cheese steak but not in my lobster mac and cheese. Is that what they actually used? I don't know. Maybe it was Velveeta. Who knows? The burgers others in our party looked good and the service was pretty on point so I may give them another try, but it for sure won't be on a Thursday night for lobster mac.
