I haven’t been there in several years. The food and service are outstanding!!!! but when I was there they didn’t have any background music, and voices cary in that building. All the customers nearly whispered to keep their voices from imposing on the room, lol. A little background music with some reasonable energy would totally solve that problem. I wouldn’t recommend elevator jazz. :)

Delicious and unique food for breakfast or lunch. Coffee is great too. Everything is always fresh and prices are reasonable. Staff are always friendly. Variety of hot sauces available for purchase as well, including some locally made. Will be back again!

Fantastic restaurant with great food and wonderful service! Adam and family do an awesome job and I always leave full and HAPPY!
Wanted something different for this morning and headed over to Lebanon. They use more seasoning than just salt & pepper here and it’s really tasty. Everyone working here seems to be family. I don’t want to make it too crowded for me to come back, but I’d say it’s worth it. We’ll be back :-)

I love going to The Lantern because of their delicious food, friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere! The seasonal menu changes keep things fresh, although it’s great that they keep certain items on the menu all year. I am always warmly greeted each time I walk through the door, the portions are very generous, and Adam (the chef/owner) is always so nice about coming out of the kitchen to make sure we are enjoying the food that day. This is definitely my “go to” lunch spot during the work week!
When my family and I were stationed at Scott AFB, we loved going to The Lantern. Great atmosphere and great service. The food was always wonderful. That dill ranch on a salad is top-notch. The bad reviews are from people just wanting to complain, so take it with a grain of salt. The long wait is usually a good sign, either packed because of the wonderful food. The Lantern is one of the main reasons I miss Illinois.

Adam is phenomenal in the kitchen! Tonia and their girls work front of the house. Everything that Adam makes he puts such thought into. If you ever get the chance to take one of his cooking classes: do it!!!

Without a doubt the best biscuit and gravy I’ve ever had! We will definitely be back.
Best biscuits and gravy ever!
Stopped in for lunch during a road trip. Super great place!
Staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Food was also tasty and filling for a reasonable price.
Would recommend to anyone passing through :)
on our way to Softball tournament and looked for mom n pop breakfast/brunch places and happened across the Lantern BLE, we had peaches and cream french toast, biscuits and gravy, and build your own breakfast sandwich. everything delicious. Real cool little restaurant!
I LOVE this place!! The atmosphere of this establishment with its soft background music wipes any stress you had before walking in away. And the FOOD! God, this café has THE best eggs, biscuits and pork gravy is a MUST to try! Oh my god, the COFFEE!! I am not exaggerating when I say that the food here is absolutely immaculate. I would come here for breakfast over iHop or Denny’s anyday! :)
