Not your usual Irish sport bar Pub, or was it? Had lunch their on a Thursday in October. Beautiful day, not to hot, not to cold and the Irish Pub was just enough sports bar with its many wall-mounted TV set to sporting events and sport talk shows to be inviting. Had some Irish charm with the seating arrangements and the decor. And the food, enough different to be not-your-typical-sports-bar / not-your-typical-Irish-Pub fare although if that is what you wanted, you would not...
I live right in downtown Lemont and I love going to Hughie’s. It’s my go-to spot for weekend lunch or night drinks. The bartenders are super nice and even when it’s PACKED on a Friday or Saturday night, you don’t wait long for drinks.
As for food, my favorite is the Reuben. My favorite appetizer/side is Guinness habanero soup. 10 stars across the board!

Overall, this place is very ok. We got fried pickles, Shepard's pie and the fish and chips. Pickles and Shepard's pie were extremely salty (and I love salt so for it to be salty to me it's pretty extreme). The fish and chips looked really good but the batter was very thick and not very crispy. The fries were also limp and not at all crispy. They also had no malt vinegar for the fish and chips..
Guinness was the best part of the meal.
