Perhaps I am spoiled by TX brisket, but their brisket sandwich was disappointing. The Morgan fries are overcooked. The beer choices are generic. I hate to give a bad review. ☹️

My family moved to Libertyville when our kids were little, seven or so years ago and Morgans was one of the first places we ever went. We have been going back for years, almost always with our kid and for early dinners. We dropped in on a Saturday evening on a date night a few weeks ago and the experience was a hard 180. A middle aged waitress we didn't know was super cold and charged me $16 for a bourbon on the rocks. Literally the check said drink $9 ice $8. I waited 5 minutes to get her attention again, asked her if it was correct, and she pointed to my Itty bitty glass filled with ice said "double pour" and marched off. Not cool. There are a lot of places, namely across the street, where $16 gets you a really good drink with none of the attitude.

Stayed in the area and our group settled on Morgan's as it was a short walk. Got seated right away even though they were fairly busy. Wait staff was attentive. Food was really good. Wife ordered a 9in pizza and I had a Reuben.......I recommend both.

Highly recommend! Great way to top off any Tuesday evening Independence Grove summer concert with a nightcap at Morgan's by joining the fun, friendly, lively crowd and entertainment by the Uncle Pigeon band.

Avoid This Place! My recent visit to Morgan’s Bar & Grill was nothing short of a disaster.Flat and Off-Tasting Beer: The beer served at Morgan’s was downright dreadful. Not only was it flat, but it also had an unpleasant, off-putting taste. ?? It’s as if they were pouring expired brews straight from the tap. It would appear the lines haven’t been cleaned in ages, which could pose health hazards.?Nonexistent Customer Service: When we asked about the beer selection, the bar tender mumbled something and pointed vaguely at the taps. Perhaps she needs a crash course in bartending basics. She was indifferent, and it felt like they were doing us a favor by us being there. ??♂️In summary, Morgan’s Bar & Grill is a place to avoid. The flat beer, clueless staff, nonexistent service, and potential health hazards make it a regrettable choice. Raise your glass elsewhere—preferably somewhere with clean lines and competent bartenders. ??Note: After our disappointing experience at Morgan’s, our large group decided to cut our losses and head next door to Mickey Finn’s. What a difference! At Mickey Finn’s, the food was delicious, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was welcoming. We raised our glasses in relief and toasted to better choices. ??

Tucked away in downtown Libertyville, Morgan's is a gem that serves up a delectable surprise. It's the quintessence of a cozy, local joint, with its unassuming yet inviting hole-in-the-wall charm. Opting for the burger of the month—a savory garlic butter burger with grilled onions—I discovered it didn't need the usual fanfare of toppings to impress (I made it a double). Every bite of the unexpectedly small, medium-rare patty was a burst of rich flavors, making it possibly the best burger I've savored in months. Although they didn't serve hand-cut fries the onion rings were a good substitute; the mini pitcher of Coors Light for five bucks, served with a custom Morgan beer glass, was a delightful touch. Simple yet perfect, Morgan's is a must-visit for anyone in Libertyville looking for an outstanding pub burger experience. I'll definitely be returning!

The owner was so rude to one of our group members refusing to serve alcohol when she was over the age. He called the cops and we couldn’t have a pleasant dinner having to talk to the officer who was pretty well-mannered in comparison. We will never come back again. Greetings.
Went for this first time last Tuesday. Owner is super nice. Excellent food, great homemade soups. The band Uncle Pigeon plays every Tuesday night. Awesome band.

The bar owner refused to serve my friends (they are of age) and then falsely accused them of stealing. I asked for the cctv footage to prove this and they refused. Owner sent his henchman to intimidate me, which was an utter failure. I cannot say that I’ll be frequenting this establishment again.

We called in an order for pickup (burger and a Reuben). I asked for the Thousand Island dressing and sauerkraut to be on the side so the sandwich wouldn't be too soggy when we got home. The bartender handed over the container of dressing, saying "here's the Thousand Island." We checked the order before we left and didn't find sauerkraut so my friend went back inside to ask. The guy said, "Oh, we might be out of it. Let me check." He came out of the kitchen with a container of kraut. YAY? Not YAY! When we got home, I had two containers of kraut and no dressing! Sometimes you just gotta laugh. The corned beef, dark rye, and cheese were delicious! The waffle fries were cold by the time we got home, but that wasn't Morgan's fault IMO.

We've been going to Morgans for a while now. Usually food is good, not today. Also questioned my bill because it was so high. Was told new owners raised all the prices - a ridiculous amount!!!!! My BLT was $13 and it didn't even come with fries. And my drink.... $14 for basically a shot of Grey Goose. Before going to Morgans, I went to Binny's to buy a larbe bottle of Svedka Vodka, it was $14.99, when I paid about the same for a shot of vodka on the rocks!!!!! Not even nice places charge that much and this is just dive bar. Definitely, won't be returning. I can go out for a nice seafood meal and drinks for what I paid.
