Worst Mexican food in the area. Order mixed fajitas the shrimp was not even grilled and smelled horrible. Overall the dish had no flavor and smelled so bad. Don’t waste your money with this place

Good food but highest prices for carry-out Mexican food in Libertyville. Increased its prices inordinately high during COVID. Adds 4% service to every order to add insult to injury.

An inedible gordita raw inside, full of dough, watery, the chicharrón reheated and burned, I also bought some meat tostadas, whose meat had already been reheated several times, the food was terrible. My experience is very bad

Great service and food. The food tasted authentic and atmosphere fun but relaxed. The prices are very reasonable. Tacos El Rey De Oro is truly a gem. They always serve the best food. Restaurant is clean, servers are nice and bilingual. Definitely recommend this place to any Mexican food lovers.

Recently moved to Libertyville and this is my family’s favorite go to for delicious Mexican cuisine. Very consistent, friendly and fast service!!!

Omg i got tonight the devil's shrimp and i love them they are so spicy that's how supposed to be because I went to Lola's tacos and tequila in Gurnee Mills and i ordered the same devil's shrimp dinner and theirs wasn't spicy at all i got mad because i told them i want them very spicy so for a good devil shrimp this is the place thank you they were absolutely delicious ?

This is a new to this place for me. I order twice in one week. I order first a burrito dinner for breakfast. I called it in and got it on time. The only thing is that the burrito inside was not wrapped tight and meat was falling all over. Tasted good but for me appearance is important to me.
Today 6/13, thought I give it another try and order for pick up, through website. I’m got there and door was locked. I called about 3 times and no response. I only have 30 minutes for breakfast so time is important to me. I knocked at door and still nothing. 10 minutes have passed and by this time I had already called 7 times. By now I see the lady there but she’s not looking at door. She did answer 3 times but I’m not sure if she heard me or was ignoring me.
I moved away from the door to big window and kept knowing on glass, by this time my hand was hurting from knocking too hard. Finally she turns around but doesn’t want to open door. I can tell she says “ door is open” which I said “ no is locked” . She finally goes to door and opens it. At this time I’m mad and hungry and told her that I been there for 10 minutes and no one responds to call.
At this pint I wasn’t even hungry anymore, food is called and tortillas are too soft. I order chilaquiles.
I was going to ask for refund but since I was already running late just left unhappy.
Wish I had a better experience but knowing me I will not go back.

First of all I asked for agua de tamarindo and it had absolutely no flavor. Then my mom was with me she ordered two tacos and she wanted a side of rice, we never got the rice but it was on the bill, when I told the waitress to have that removed she said she could just give me the rice to go, I told her I don't want the rice take it off the bill please and she got an attitude. Then I was charged a fee for using my debit card. The food was sub par, The rice was mushy, with no flavor.
Nothing special about this place, don't think we will be returning.
