Great bar menu and really cool vibes. Not sure if it was just our experience but two of my family members had some stomach issues after eating here. The pork buns were great but the ramen was so-so in my opinion. Definitely more fusion - I’d go back for the bao and drinks but skip the ramen next time!

Meh. The service is great, the food so-so. The shrimp Bao buns had good taste but the buns themselves seemed a bit stale or not great. The pork belly Ramen had great noddles and broth - the pork itself was very bland and not a good piece of meat. Drinks seem very expensive. I had Sapporo on draft and it tastes like their lines could use a cleaning.

Being only open 4 hours is weird
they have an item on the menu called "bao buns" that ARE NOT bao buns. they are deconstructed bao buns dressed up as tacos. there is nothing on the menu to denote this. the menu says bao buns. they need to change it to "bao bun tacos" to be more accurate. i was disappointed when tacos were brought to my table. the ramen is just OK as well. there are plenty of better ones close by. the atmosphere is a total vibe here tho so it gets some points for that. but otherwise a let down.

The Ramen here is so good. I've had the Sumo and the satay and both were so flavorful and filling. Perfect for a cold winter's night

Reservation a must and the entrance is in the back near Duck Donuts. As for the service, it was a little slow. The waiter didn’t even introduce himself. The sides were pretty damn good! The ramen itself, very salty and processed noodles. I only say that because i have lived in Japan and Hawaii so knowing authentic ramen didn’t help.
Their menu, however, had other items i would like to try so i would go back just to try the other items.

I am the Property Manager for a non-profit in Libertyville that provides residential housing for women in need. I was fortunate to be around when the owner generously donated and delivered several large pans of ramen to one of our locations. It was delicious.
Been in the burbs for over a year now, by far the best experience I have had at a restaurant. Staff is awesome, food is awesome, and drinks were so good my girlfriend was drinking old fashions (she never does)

I was really hoping for an amazing ramen experience but the ones we tried were bland and had no spice. Tried the special satay ramen which doesn’t even taste like satay. Very disappointing.
The fried avocado and the orange chicken buns were solid appetizers and I would order those again. But when I go to a ramen restaurant I expect the ramen to shine.

Saw this restaurant on a TikTok and decided to try it out. Atmosphere and service was great. Wasn’t too busy of a night so was seated right away even though we made reservations through OpenTable.
I ordered the sweet & spicy (?) edamame, which was delicious. Cooked perfectly and had a nice kick of heat with it. For the main entree, I went with the pork belly ramen with an extra egg. The bowl was delicious and everything was cooked perfectly. The broth was good.
Would definitely come back and visit!!

I’ve been coming to West Side Ramen a couple of times since it opened and it never disappoints. All the food is great especially the smoked pork belly bao buns. Not only is the food delicious but the service is great with my meals always coming out in a timely manner and you can definitely see that they try to provide a great atmosphere even when they are super busy.
