We didn’t stay here but stopped along the way for lunch after seeing 4.5 on Yelp. Just a small little diner attached to a clean, simple looking motel. We had the open faced roast beef and a grilled chicken sandwich. The food was amazing. The roast beef was perfect, gravy and potatoes just plain delicious like mom’s. The chicken sandwich was very good too. And the pies.. omg you have to have a piece of pie. Or the gigantic cinnamon roll heated up and lathered with butter… oh my. Staff were friendly and nice and attentive. Stop here for a meal, you won’t regret it.

I didn't stay in the rooms, just stopped for breakfast.Food & drinks: I ordered the country fried steak for breakfast, 2 eggs overhard, hash browns, wheat toast, and a cup of coffee. Tasted great, big portions, bottomless cup of coffee, and make sure you try their apple butter on your toast.While you're here you'll appreciate the warm and real atmosphere provided by both the staff and the other patrons.Maybe you're driving south through Illinois on I-55 and want to indulge in some country home cooking before you hit St Louis, then this is your stop.
