Avanzare Italian Restaurant

We were disappointed. First the waiter was odd. We both commented of how enjoyable the Avazare salad was. He didn't acknowledge at all. He never asked how our food was. Therein was the problem. Spaghetti with meatballs and sausage, a basic, important dish was not good. Pasta was overcooked. My husband thought the meatball was “off”. I thought just flavorless. I had salmon with lemon sauce which was good. Roasted potatoes were crispy and delicious. Service otherwise was good. Quality didn't justify the price.

Four of us had lunch and everyone order something different from salads to sandwiches to pasta. All were thrilled with our meal. Service was fantastic.

Never again. Cleanliness issues everywhere. Fruit flies filled the hand cleanser dispenser by the front entrance. Fruit flies buzzing around our table and we were seated near the kitchen. Kitchen must have them too. Olive oil bottle handle was dirty, cruddy, and oily. Had not been cleaned. Carpaccio didn't fill the plate it was served on. Barely any meat. Maybe six or seven slices. Almost all slaw salad. Could barely find the meat covered by all the slaw. Really cut down the portion size. Way smaller than the last time we came in early summer. Server was slow and rarely seen.

Excellent service and great food. Ryan provided superb service and everyone in our party truly enjoyed our food and experience.

very fresh homemade pasta. Service was excellent. Wenbt on a weeknight so the restaurant was empty. Decent Italian food but over priced

The salmon was done to perfection. The portion of eggplant parmesan was enormous! Service was attentive. The only drawbacks I experienced were the noise level was really high, and the bread was very stale. Price was quite reasonable.

Avanzare is a nice family restaurant with good food, cocktails and desserts! Atmosphere is comfortable with good distance between tables. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable!

We are never disappointed here. The service was outstanding and the food, as always, was delicious!

This is a hidden gem in the western burbs. Very authentic Italian menu and execution, makes us feel like we're back in Rome. All the pastas, breads, and desserts are homemade, even the gelato! Very laid back and unpretentious atmosphere, friendly staff, and fair prices.

A truly authentic Italian restaurant. Sadly, we were there after a funeral service. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely go there. Those living in the Lombard area are definitely blessed to have this restaurant available to them.

We always enjoy dinner at Avanzare. The staff are attentive & friendly and food is very good. Two of us had pizzas, one with pepperoni and one a marghuerita; the later was eaten then & there, the former was finished at home for lunch the next day. 3rd one had soft shell crabs, and the last had eggplant parmigiano-these were both tasty, and the eggplant will make 2 fine lunches at home. we recommend it.

Ricardo and staff are outstanding. Food is delicious and authentic Italian. It's a must go place

The fish was fresh. Pasta was good. Mid tier atmosphere. Not loud, so the six of us had a relaxed conversation. I'll go back again for sure.

Carbonara was amazing as was the chicken parm. Service was outstanding on a very busy night. Thank you Jorge! Tiny bit noisy and a bit of wait staff traffic but the food and service were excellent. Thank you for an amazing evening!
