Ricardo and staff are outstanding. Food is delicious and authentic Italian. It's a must go place
The staff is AMAZING EVERYONE WAS HAPPY AND VERY ACCOMMODATING! They will do any changes you want!! We will be back! Thank you
The food portions were not small but not large. They were just perfect and delicious. I had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. The server was the part owner of the restaurant, so that was an added touch. Overall, the experience was great, I'd go back again.
At first everything about Avanzare seemed perfect. A quiet, intimate Italian restaurant. The staff was super friendly and easy to get along with. The issues began when our steaks arrived: 1- I don't even know how to cook a ribeye so that half of it is medium rare and the other half rare, like mine was. I ordered medium, but since it was my wife's birthday I kept my mouth shut and chewed the gooey mess. Then I see my wife's steak. Half medium, half well done? Seriously? I have fed waffle house steak to my dog, we didn't even bother bringing this one home to him. 2- Once dinner was over, after waiting 20 minutes for a check while my kids were waiting for us to return I directly asked for it. We were told something special was coming to the table. 3- It was a genuinely sweet gesture, they brought tiramisu out for my wife after about 10ish more minutes and wrote happy birthday on the plate. Yes, it was nice and I feel awful for having to leave a bad review, but my wife hates tiramisu and choked some of it down to be polite right before we had to wait ANOTHER 20 F*****G MINUTES FOR THE CHECK! 4- We missed fireworks because we were unable to leave on time after having 50 minutes (at least) of her birthday hijacked by a restaurant with food we weren't even happy with. It was edible, but nowhere near worth what was being charged or missing a yearly activity with our kids we've never missed before. Just go to Vai's in Naperville, the drive time is less than how long your bill will get held hostage here.
Had a wonderful time (as always) We come every year around this time. It is always an enjoyable experience. The food is always delicious and cooked to perfection. All of the items we ordered on the menu tasted superb. The gnocchi w/asparagus had amazing flavor. The salmon was cooked great, potatoes, broccoli and spinach were tasty. My father had the Veal Marsala which he said was terrific with sides. The waiter is good and busboys do a great job. See you again soon! :)
The food is always excellent and we will continue to request Ryan as our server when we dine at Avanzare. It is always a great experience.
Food quality was hit or miss.
Atmosphere was quaint, a bit pricey
My first time at Avanzarre was a wonderful experience! The food was amazing. We had the squash blossoms and Amish Chicken, Tortellini with seafood. The tiramisu and espresso martinis were also delicious. We will definitely be going back. Top tier Italian food!
Very good all around.
We were seated immediately as we entered at 6:45 and ordered 10 minutes after. However, 2 appetizers (salad and fried zucchini) took 30 minutes. Then they forgot about us and only got our entrees an hour later.
Due to the mistake they took off an appetizer (3 pieces of cheese zucchini for $13). The tortelli was underwhelming, wrapped with as little cheese and meat as possible, and forgot the clams.
I think it would have been an enjoyable experience had our order not taken so long.
Restaurantji Recommends
Food and service always excellent! One of our favorite restaurants! Outside patio is lovely!
I picked up 4 entrees tonight for dinner.
Ravioli Con Costolette-nothing special and very small portion size
Tortelli de Mar-tried but didn't like
Ribs-only 1/2 slab and too much bbq. If we had to pick one we liked it was the ribs.
Chicken Francese-bland
For entrees all were very small portions.
We will stick to Taste of Italy
OMG. An amazing Italian restaurant. Food was extraordinary, the wine list, which was was priced, was great and service was wonderful. Do not miss this jewel in the suburbs.
My family and friends have never had a bad meal and the Restaurant Week meals are outstanding. The atmosphere is a haven for quiet conversations.
My family came for dinner and it was absolutely fantastic. Our server Ryan took care of us and our kiddos 100% From the atmosphere, bread, appetizers and main course was hot, flavorful and we will absolutely be coming back. I highly recommend Thanks again Ryan!
