I had a 7pm dinner reservation at the one of the tables where they cook in front of you. By 7:30pm, they were seating the parties with 6:45pm reservations. I'm not sure if they are always this backed up but that is completely unacceptable. What is the point of making a reservation? They ended up seating us at a table near the bar in the dark, no lights around. For what eating out costs these days, it was not worth it.

Excited and service. The chef prepared the food to Percy and the server was extremely attentive and hospitable. Highly recommend Benihana in Lombard. Great experience

So this was my first time here on sweetest day & the food was good but they don't tell you in the beginning that your hibachi dinner don't come with fried rice, only steamed! so they charged you 7.50 extra, also the staff had terrible attitudes & my food came out to 107. I didn't give them a tip because I felt like they were not nice & super rude . I guess the lady wrote her own tip . They took 135 from my card! I love Benihana but I will NEVER in my life go to the one on Lombard again! Stealing money is not ok . I wasent gonna leave a bad review until I check my bank account this morning & seen they stole money, that really upset me!!! Be aware if you go & bring cash

Our chef Opras was amazing. Very friendly and kind. He went above and beyond to meet everyone's request. The food was prepared perfectly. He deserves a BIG raise.

Food was great. Chef was extremely talented and put on a great show. I've been going to Benihana in California, Las Vegas, and now in Illinois for 20 years. Birthdays and many other celebrations. They're just outstanding!

We enjoyed the entertaining chef at our table. He made an extra effort for the small children. The service could have been better as our glasses went empty and the server forgot to bring me the water I asked for and I had to ask again.

I've been coming to Benihana for over six years to celebrate my sister's and my birthdays — it's always been a tradition we've looked forward to. Unfortunately, yesterday's visit was by far the worst experience we've ever had. The food quality has noticeably declined, our waitress was rude and inattentive, and the overall service was unacceptable. To make matters worse, my cousin, who has a severe shrimp allergy, informed the chef after shrimp had already been placed on her plate, and he refused to take it back — saying, “It comes with your meal.” That level of disregard for a serious allergy is absolutely unacceptable. Benihana used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but after this experience, we won't be returning. It's disappointing to see a place we've loved for years fall this far in both quality and service.

Our experience was not very nice. It was a Spanish speaking cook and we sat at a table of Spanish speaking family so they all spoke Spanish together and basically ignored us. RUDE!!! The family spoke English but would not. Your servers should be more aware of his table members

I've been going to Benihana almost 20 years now and I am terribly disappointed in the quality of food, service and watered down drinks. The rice was hard, calamari appetizer was overcooked and the restaurant was dirty. My last two visits were the worse so I will not be patronizing the establishment again. Not sure what has happened over the past couple of years but it's disappointing that one of our favorite restaurants has turned into a place of pure disgust.

Excellent food, specially the Wagyu options. Service was attentive but forgot to bring the salad.

This place needs some serious renovation. Menu and experience get old after a while. I do not think it's worth the money anymore.

Was very disappointed took my 15 year old birthday boy here and told him about all the funny things the chef would do and was waiting and nothing happened. I went once before with a friend and they did this onion fire thing or cut chicken throwing it in our mouth or funny things but last night Nothing but he threw one piece of chicken in his hat that was it. How sad and disappointed I waited three weeks for this for my son to experience and nothing.

Disappointed. Expected to get some entertainment. He basically just made the food. Except he broke some eggs when trying twirl them.

Food was overcooked and poorly seasoned. Waitress kept getting orders wrong. Experience felt rushed overall.
