Recommended by a friend, and it did not disappoint. Old school jazz played in the background while I slurped my way through a large delicious bowl of ramen.

The meat was too salty. The broth was okay, but salty. No tonkotsu in the menu. They charge extra for toppings that should be included at the price they charge. Better ramen can be found not far from here. That said, the restaurant was clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and attentive.

Pretty authentic Japanese ramen. Been here at least three times. All the different ramen I tried were good. However a bit on the salty side. The spicy one is actually spicy. Also, most of the time the meat slices in the ramen are melt in your mouth tender and super tasty. However, there was one time the meat was tough, chewy, and lukewarm. Duno what happened with that. The dish with the meat slices on top of rice was not as good as when the meat is on the ramen. The meat was even saltier and a little over charred. The chicken kara age is delicious. Super tender and juicy on inside and crispy outside.

Fantastic ramen (strong recommend to add the egg, regardless what ramen you order), some of the best I've had in Chicago and burbs. Had bun appetizer, which was very good, though the ramen portion is large so may not need an appetizer. Service was fast and friendly.

Honestly this review is slightly incomplete since I've only been there once recently, and I haven't tried a vast amount of the menu from the Karage to other Ramens to their BBQ.I can at least focus on the base ramen and give my thoughts. Overall it's good, but not the best. My biggest issue were the noodles and how bland they were. They looked bleach white which you normally never see, and seem to be lacking any flavor. They were also more soft and not chewy. Normally you get a little hint of salt and wheat, and the Kansuai gives it a yellow color and chewiness. It seems like the noodles were lacking on all fronts. The rest of the soup was good. I liked the base pork broth which is lighter than some other places, but still flavorful and tasty. The pork was delicious, and they gave you a good amount as well. The green onion, bamboo shoots, and egg were all nice additions as well.Sadly the noodles, which to me is as important as the broth, fell way below par.I will probably try the place again since I am curious to try out their miso and spicy ramens, but hopefully the noodles were just a bad day and not the norm.

Went to the new suburbs location for an impromptu date night. Fantastic food! We went in, and weren't sure about what to expect since it's hard to find good ramen places. We went in, loved the food, ramen was great, the vegan one was fantastic as well as the spicy miso. House sake was good as well. Servers were friendly and amazing. Will definitely be back.

Dine-in 3x and the food is good and the service could be better with bots as it would be easier to order via our smart phones or provided tablets. It's a clean atmosphere but this location's team needs more customer service training of being happy to be there and excited they have customers. This is a rare Kitakata Ramen location that is not always packed with a 30-45min wait but if their team customer service doesn't improve, I will just continue ordering takeout to skip the dine-in pain.I give this location 4-stars for the food and 2-stars for the service, and leaving 4-star review in HOPES of improvement?!We'll see... does management make time to review their Yelp reviews and respond? I'll let you know.

Finally some great ramen in the west burbs. I’ve tried numerous places around here and this is easily the best. There’s certainly more authentic choices in the city or up north, but west burbs this is an easy win for me. Fast, friendly, delicious ramen.

This place is amazing!! The food is delicious, tasty, and made fresh. The service is professional and efficient, but the real difference maker is the manager, Shay, is absolutely incredible. Shay makes the resturant run and all the employees that much better!!

I stopped in for lunch on Sunday and was able to be seated right away. There was plenty of seating in the restaurant. It seemed like people were coming & going also for pickup orders. There is a vegetarian ramen, which is always a good sign of a menu. They also had a Hawaiian menu - I'm not sure if it's part of their restaurant or if they're working with a different restaurant. I ordered the Tan Tan Ramen. I was looking for something spicy. There were quite a few spicy options. I had asked the server for a recommendation and this and the Spicy Miso were the ones she recommended. The regular bowl is pretty ample in size! I would say get the large if you're hungry or sharing with more people. I had enough leftovers for another meal! The prices on their menu on their website do not reflect the current prices, so be aware if you're looking on the website. Everything was around $15-17 for a regular bowl, then $20+ for a large bowl.I'd definitely come back again!

I’m a regular here at Kitakata. I usually come in once a week on Shay shift. I came in tonight during dinner rush, I have to say that Shay and her team killed it tonight. They moved at a great pace and got food out. She communicated very well with her staff and spoke with a loud and gracefully so that very one could hear her. My experience here was great as usual. But this time I did notcie that Shay was having trouble with one of the staff member in the kitchen. She was calling out asking for times on items and the person whom she was talking to seemed to have had a bad attitude I heard him talk back negatively and give smart remarks. I even heard she ask I’m multiple time to please use his timers so that he could keep up with order but and whoever the guy was was very rebellious. As a customer that has been coming her for months this really bothered me because she is always loud and energetic and tries her best to help out wherever is need for her staff she is a great leader and teamwork. I hate to see staff react to such a team player and great worker that way.

I came in tonight with my family. I have to say that the staff was during great. it was very busy but everyone seemed to be working together to get the job done. The was a taller black female working I think she is a manager or shift lead, She made sure that everyone was busy and on task, she spoke calmly but loudly enough for everyone to hear. the staff was guided and very focused on task. I also watch not only how she interacted with our table but other tables as well. she was very grounded and made sure to stop and check on every table and make sure they was doing okay and food was okay. She also made sure other staff working the floor did the same. I will surely be returning to the location for another great dinner.
