Everything Tasnim (latest reviewer) is accurate. I debated this review as I always want to support small businesses but you should know what you’re receiving for $60/person. Mostly trader joe’s with kind service in a charming atmosphere.
Quaint little tea cafe. The food was good and the tea was plentiful.
Such cute and cozy tea room!
This place is reservations only, which I didn’t know before visiting. I travelled far to come here, so the owner was kind enough to take me in for a cup of tea. Their Christmas tea was so good. If you love Bridgerton kind of ambiance, you need to check this place out. The whole downtown area was small but cute, covered in snow with Christmas decor, so it was worth visiting. It was giving hallmark town vibe. I am definitely coming back with a reservation!
It was such a great experience today! Every detail was special and the holiday tea blend was so nice! Great event and experience for a holiday treat!
This is probably the bottom of my list in regards to high or afternoon tea when comparing prices to other afternoon teas in the area and the quality of food as well as ambiance of the restaurant. I would not return or recommend this place as there are better options for higher quality food and ambiance.
We had a wonderful time as we passed on this tradition to the next generation. Our 8yo enjoyed experimenting with various foods and thought the hats were delightful. Quiet space to hear everyone's stories. They also accommodated Gluten-free. Great time. Thank you
We just had afternoon tea at Gerri’s and it was truly a lovely experience! My spouse and I are from out of town visiting family. This tea house is a fun place with great food and delicious tea! We had a family member get off work earlier than she planned and wanted to join us. Gerri was extremely flexible. She added another person to our reservation with no issues. Wonderful/friendly staff. Gluten free options available, nice decor, and ambiance. One thing to note - there are stairs. Not good for wheelchairs from what I could see.
The “egg cup” full of tomato and pepper soup ( approx. 1/4 cup ) was excellent! Tea finger sandwiches were just okay/good 1 crab, 1 beef (not great), 1 salmon (favorite), 1 cucumber, 1 asparagus, 1 egg salad and 1 Brie with cranberry all okay. Raisin Scones were very good one small plate with clotted cream, abt 3 Tablespoons of lemon curd and of strawberry jam for 5 of us. We did not get tea of our choice or a pot of tea for our table. We like to get a pot or two for the table. Each cup was poured individually by the server, kind of an interruption to our conversation and visiting. The tea of choice (house tea) is earl grey. We were not asked for preference before we were served. After we asked for breakfast tea without the Earl we were served from the same silver pot as the house earl grey so for non fans of earl gray the pot was seasoned with earl gray so the licorice taste lingered. Dessert plate was okay individual chocolate pot de crème cream was over mixed still okay. Macaroons and petit fours seemed store bought. Buttery raspberry pastry was delicious. $300 for five + tip, seems a bit pricey for the portion. Three tiered server with three dinner plates for five no seconds - $300. Still we enjoyed our time together. Each cup was poured individually by the server, kind of an interruption to our conversation and visiting. We like to visit different tea houses for tea all over the Chicagoland area. There's definitely some competition out there. Maybe an Irish pub next time!
This place is cute. However, the food is just mediocre.. The tea sandwiches or nothing unusual and some were a little bit stale, deserts were store bought. The server was very accommodating. The cost for two was in my opinion expensive for what was served. The experience was ok as I had a guest from out of town and this is the only tea room in the suburban area.
We were there celebrating a friend's birthday. It was a lovely afternoon and the food was excellent. Would have like a little more options of teas but I understand it is supposed to be like an English tea.

My daughter and I go to High Tea with Gerri every year. It is so special. Everyone is polite, warm and friendly. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful experience. It is so unique and authentic. I would highly recommend it.
I had my solo afternoon tea to mark my birthday. I was pleasantly surprised! Loved it! It is a beautiful place to have an afternoon tea experience. The ambiance is everything, and the service was great. I will highly recommend it to anyone! Awesome 👌
Disappointed with the tea experience. Would have preferred to have the service done differently. Our tomato soup with cream was lukewarm but we were warned it was hot. All the rest of the food is brought at one time. The scone was cold- would have liked that brought out on its own warm or hot. The staff had a moto razor phone that rang numerous times with the ‘hello moto' ringtone. No really a relaxing feeling. The women were nice but for the overall cost - 60 plus tax 5 bucks - it worked out to 130 for two plus tip. Not worth the money for what you get or the experience.
The tea room is charming, you are met with elegance and just enough formality in the table settings to remind you this is special. The food was excellent - we enjoyed all 4 courses. Our server Nicole was a delight. She was attentive, explained each course and was very sweet. We're excited to return.
Our experience at High Tea With Gerri was amazing! This is a gem in Long Grove. The location and ambiance is better than any high tea you can get at a hotel. Their attention to service, the food, and the ritual was perfect!
