WIU alumni who haven't been in Macomb in 40 years we stumbled on this restaurant, and we were very impressed. Place was hopping, so we sat at the bar. We both ordered their chicken tortilla soup. The soup was delicious with just a little kick. It was so good I made a pot of chicken tortilla soup at home on Sunday for the first time - mine wasn't nearly as good as Chick's. 😒 i ordered the Monterey Chicken sandwich with bacon that was very good. Stopped in Macomb and gave Chick's on the Square a try. Our meals were amazing and the portions were solid! I picked up our food and the staff were all very polite and courteous. Definitely will come back the next time we visit Macomb!
The service is great. I enjoyed my grilled burrito with chicken and cheese. I have had better fried pickle spears. The breading really didn't stick and they were too hard. I returned another night and ordered turtle cheesecake to go. I didn't care for the overload of toppings. It made it messy and much too sweet. It wasn't what I expected. I like the vibe of the place..I need to return to try the fried chicken.
