Website says open , as does the sign on the door, but the bar is shut. How many people must come here and then never come back as the opening hours are spoof! Management need to get their acts together or close down before they go bust. How can you run a bar this poorly beats me.
Good hot food and chef.

Three times we have come on Friday nights for the nachos. Twice before 6pm. Everytime we are told they are out. Maybe prepare a little better in the future??? Disappointing.

After making the 4 hour drive to Marion from Chicago, we were tired and looking for a place to eat. We decided to check out the Cross-Eyed Bear and were not disappointed. We had burgers and curly fries which were delicious, definitely not a boring frozen patty burger. The drinks were great as well. We ate on the patio to enjoy the warm weather. This is a great local restaurant.

We came for the crab legs. They were ok. Like everything else we ordered. For $40 no salad is included. You got a piece of corn and a few fried potatoes. My chicken on my salad was fried to death and so gristly I couldn't eat it.
Sat outside and it's obvious that they haven't cleaned out there for quite some time. An hour and a power washer would make a huge difference. Who wants to eat with dirt and cobwebs hanging over their head. I don't mean a little, I mean the cobwebs on the Bud Light sign were huge and thick like it had been that way all year. We were the only table outside and they all needed wiped down.
We will not be back.
The bright spot in the whole evening was a great waitress.

Out of the way place at Lake of Egypt. Just the type of joint I'm looking for, cold beer, good drinks and food specials. Worth the drive if you're in the, area. Friendly service, good burger and eclectic atmosphere. Loved it, going back.

Drinks and food order was prompt we all ordered sweet tea which were sweet but very lightly colored tea. The service was good. As the food came out, almost 2 hours after ordering, the appetizer Mac n cheese bites were hot and tasted good. Our dinner on the other hand was not. The chicken nuggets looked like they got cold and refried but they were cold. The catfish sandwich was cold and soggy. The grilled shrimp was spongy and barely warm. The Italian beef tasted freezer burnt. As if they froze it, microwaved it and served it cold on a bun which was stale. We ordered steak fries and were served curly and sweet potato fries both of which were chewy and cold. My daughter ordered hush puppies and was barely able to bite into them because they were also cold and dark from almost being burnt. I personally had the catfish sandwich and unfortunately showing signs of food poisoning. The refills of tea we got were served from a plastic tea pitcher that was stained brown and also noticed refills were being counted on our ticket. We made our complaint to the server and he got us another person who ended up having to call the owner to figure out what to do. Eventually we were given the bill which had the drinks 4 sweet teas and refills taken off the receipt and a 20% discount applied. At this point we were ready to leave because we were still hungry and very angry with our experience. I paid the bill and left. We will definitely not be going back.

The crab legs were very good. The service was incredible. She was working by herself dealing with all you can eat Crab leg hungry people with a smile and keeping up on when we were ready for more. She was handling the bar, the tables and the patio. We were very impressed with her!! We’ll definitely be back.

Our order was taken fairly promptly which was great since it was pretty busy. Food took a long time to come out... my order was wrong (ordered Italian beef & steak fries... got curly fries & a cheesesteak). Decided to just eat it since I didn't want to wait any longer. A different waitress heard us talking & fixed the sandwich issue. The cheesesteak was actually pretty good, can't really say the same about the Italian beef though. It was not anything like any Italian beef I'd ever had... honestly had a strange texture. No one asked if we wanted drink refills either.

This was my first experience here, but it will not be my last. All you can eat Crab legs on Thursdays for $40 is absolutely worth it. The staff and atmosphere is relaxing.
