McDonald’s – Matteson, IL (Across from Pete’s)
Now, everybody knows I don’t eat McDonald’s like that anymore… everybody knows. But!!! Today, fresh outta my annual doctor’s visit, a craving hit me like a ton of bricks—a steak, egg, and cheese bagel. Had to have it. Ordered just the sandwich, no extras, and hit the road.
Listen. This was the freshest bagel sandwich I’ve ever had. Toasted just right on the inside, soft, moist, and buttery on the outside. That steak? Tender. Those grilled onions? Glazed to perfection. And I ain’t even ask for extra cheese, but look at the way they built my sandwich?! Eggs? Fluffy. That sauce? Oozing.
I didn’t even make it home. Pulled over, snapped some pics, and smashed. Delicious. Delicious. Delicious.
Shoutout to this McDonald’s for getting it right today! If you’re in the area and craving one of these, this location might just do you right.

The hash browns were soggy and my mom had a bacon egg and cheese bagel and she said the bagel was crispy.

ATTENTION OWNER/ DISTRICT MANAGER - This is by far the worst MCD I’ve been to. Operations are disorganized and poorly executed. New staff is not trained properly. Tenured staff/ management has the worst attitude. Look closely into performance specifically from 2 older women working 1/13/25 9am; one with button shirt and glasses (possibly a manager based on uniform, not based on behavior obviously) and the second with t-shirt and accent in DT. This is obviously an ongoing issue based on the last reviews. I assure you are loosing business because of these employees who clearly hate their job and are not treating customers with respect and hospitality.

Amazing
The first kiosk is usually out of paper receipts (or loaded incorrectly), so remember your order number (the Hispanic male manager refuses to reprint your receipt at the register, but other managers will sometimes). They get the condiments wrong, even when entered via the kiosk. A medium fry is always the size of a small, and you have to ask them to top it off.
The new staff (they have a heavy rotation) is hit or miss (usually miss) on taking your order correctly at the register (that's why I use the kiosk).
Their hygiene practices need a visit from the health inspector. They mop or sweep and then go to serving your food without washing their hands. I told an employee twice to wash her hands between alternating packing parts of my order and sweeping. All I got from the manager was, "I'll talk to her about it." as opposed to making her immediately stop touching my food and go wash her hands.
Be prepared to wait and then have to check your order (have a conversation with the other customers waiting there looking upset (pickup and drive thru, that had to come inside to get their order fixed), and they will agree that this place needs more training in the McDonald's processes of order taking, preparation, checking for accuracy, and customer service).
There are a few gems of employees there, but I have only seen them once or twice. They understand customer service and dont hesitate to ask for help. I don't know if they left, or I just don't come in when they are on shift.
Parking: Finally, be careful when using the driveway to the parking lot from Lincoln Hwy / Rt. 30 / 211th St. It is supposed to be one way, but many cars speed up the ramp from the closed Burlington store's parking lot against traffic to bypass the Pulaski & Lincoln Hwy (Rt. 30) stoplight. I'm surprised there aren't more accidents in the McDonald's lot adjacent to the car wash.

Waay to slow for curbside. 10 cars went thru drive through before someone came out with a coffee and plain steak bagel. Don't use curbside. Faster in drive thru

I went to do a mobile pickup and when I arrived, the lights and stuff was on but nobody was inside. So my money was taken and I never received my order

The place that should close at 10pm closes at 9.30pm. What does this mean? Are you fooling people? That's why we come here

Had the breakfast sandwich (sausage & egg biscuit) wasn't what I expected. Tasted different than I remember. Will stick with the steak muffin
