What the restaurant might lack in ambience is made up for by an increasingly rare commodity in Chicagoland: Bohemian food. There used to be dozens of good Bohemian restaurants in this area. Now you can count them on one hand. The portions were huge and the kolacky were especially tasty. Whether duck or pork or something else, it brought back nostalgia for the homeland of my ancestors.

The food was absolutely outstanding! I had the duck and pork dish with dumplings, and every bite was perfection. The hospitality was beyond amazing—truly the kind of service every restaurant should strive for. The staff made me feel like part of the family, which made the whole experience even better. The prices were also very affordable.
The duck, in particular, deserves special mention. It was cooked to absolute perfection—tender, flavorful, and unforgettable. I love ordering duck whenever it’s on the menu, and I’ve paid twice as much for it at other places, yet it never came close to how good this was. This dish alone was worth the visit, and paired with the warmth of the staff, it created an experience I’ll never forget.

I had traditional Czech food which was good and Czechvar bier which wasn't on the menu but when I asked they said it was available. Will return, especially since it appears to be the only remaining Czech restaurant.

A traditional Bohemian Restaurant offering authentic Czech specialties.
Open since 1991, the welcoming atmosphere, generous portion size and delicious food make it a solid choice for a satisfying meal. Favorites of our family include Svickova, Breaded Pork Tenderloin, Crispy Duck, Smoked Butt and the Farmers Plate.

Went with some friends, this was my 1st time there. I ordered meatloaf - I was not thrilled with it sadly. The chicken soup was very tasty, bread was nice....other than that, it was OK. Our waitress was very nice, rushing around getting things ready for the lunch crowd. I will go back again to try the duck (a person in our group ordered it & it looked delicious)
