Sandwich was delicious, cashier was rude at first. Ask one simple question, since I saw the cannolis already premade in the refrigerator. I asked. Can you make them fresh. The cashier wouldn't even let me finished before saying of course it's fresh. I wouldn't give you day old food. What I was going to continue asking was could you put the cannoli cream in the shell fresh because I can't stand a soggy cannoli shell. But I love cannolis. I simply said forget it. I walked away. Let my husband deal with him. My husband cashed out and The cashier ask my husband did i upset your wife. I think my husband explained and then the guy was very apologetic. He took ownership which is great. But if you are the cashier, you need to think of how your answer comes off to a question. There's always a nice way to say something or a rude way to say something.. Mostly since we said this was the first time we were there. I'm a true believer in customer service and I don't care how good the food is. I will not come back if people are rude...
The two women behind the counter who made the 2 sandwiches did a fabulous job. Sandwiches were delicious. But again crack a smile when someone ask you for some mayo. I don't know if everyone was just having a bad day that day, but it's not the first time I've heard of this when it comes to the sandwich shop. People have said great food, just not the most friendly people working there.
If I'll say one thing to this place would be crack a smile Because It goes a long way. You don't need to be chatty. Just a smile

Recently tried this after not realizing it existed for many months despite driving by it near daily. I gotta say after the first time having it I needed more. I must’ve been there 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Fantastic sandwiches (try the mortadella fella specialty sandwich). Food is a little pricey but you get what you pay for and that’s just how it is when you’re supporting local business.

Service is horrible. Have been a few times and the workers, owner(?) treat you like an inconvenience. It's a shame but won't spend money at an establishment that can't treat there paying customers with respect.. I'll take my money elsewhere

Best subs around, no question! I bragged to my team how good they were so I ordered them for our monthly meeting. Everyone, about 20 of us, raved about the sandwiches. The potato salad was great too and the cookies...wow! I can't say enough about how good this place is.

Have had Subs a few times here now, everything is delicious and fresh. The only disappointment for me is the sub roll. It is really fresh bread but the top crust is so crispy it rips the roof of my mouth as you eat it. This last time I substituted the roll for plain white bread and that was much better. Will be back to try some more menu items!

First time here and not really impressed enough to return. Sandwich bread was hard and overall dry. Needs more spread. Love the amount of veggies and meat though. Cashier was kinda rude, he said “we don’t have uhhh on the menu” to my husband. Not cool. I think I’ll stick with Grandmas wine bar and deli for my sandwiches.

At first look I saw Market fair $..upon opening and tasting my first sub bite WOW!…way above & beyond classic quality subs. Can’t believe I never read reviews, and just never stopped in. Get the word out fellow sandwich lovers for this place, it’s a keeper.

Best Sandwich in McHenry County. Hands down, without question. The meat is flavorful, the bread is PERFECTION. The desserts are icing on the cake. Canoles to die for, cream puffs and YUM, YUM!! The cost is reasonable and missing out is just sad....I was VERY Late in finding this out and now...I want every sandwich lover to know about Adam's Sandwich Shop!!

Italian sub is the bomb. Generous portions. Being realistic, the only thing this place has working against them is their service. Generally, my wife and I are treated ok. But you get the vibe that they see you as privileged to be there, more than it’s a privilege to have the customer support their livelihood. Always see a lady behind the counter making sandwiches and she’s never friendly, doesn’t acknowledge you, etc. the guy that takes the orders is ok. But you can tell he seems a little bothered by your presence.
If they’d be nice; place would be slamming. As other reviews have said though, don’t expect welcome arms.

Okay for the price nothing special. Asked for giardiniera on the side, instead of on the sandwich and never got it
Consistently serves the best sandwiches Ive ever had. This place deserves way more attention.
