If i could rate a 0 I would. Terrible stomach pain. Had food delivered through an app. Totally unsatisftory and tasteless. They didn't read any of the notes, did not supply us with utensils and napkins even though that was selected on the order. The veggies were severely overcooked and the noddles were hard, the entire food order was also way too oily.
The flavor was way off from what was expected as I've eaten Chinese food my whole life. I called and the manager answered and he was extremely rude and told me to contact the food service as if that was going to fix their cooking or service. All I wanted to say were the issues with the food so they didn't do it to anyone else... just terrible.

The restaurant is pick up only and the front is run down and even a bit dingy in appearance but the prices are great and the food is REALLY good! When we moved to McHenry 10 years ago we had trouble finding Chinese food we liked. Finally friends suggested checking out China House.

Some of the food was good and some not so good. What happened to this place? Food scores: Egg Roll gets a 1 Looks like one, no flavor, no internal structure. Crab Rangoon gets a 2 At least it hade the flavor, just not much filling. Steamed Dumplings gets a 3. Not sure what the paste looking substance was but it tasted like it should. General TSO, Lo Mein, and Sweet and sour Chicken scored much better they get a 4.5. I’m not going to tell you to stay away. Just be cautious as to what you order.

Ordered from there 1-11-24 they forgot the sweet and sour sauce for the sweet and sour chicken. Called the restaurant they tell us to call door dash they tell us to contact the restaurant. Needless to say china house was no help wouldn't even give us sweet and sour sauce. He was rude and hung up on my mother when she said is like my sauce for chicken. Will never order from here again..Kelly N

Let’s me start off by saying how I hate bad reviews since I own a business myself . I’ve ordered from this establishment years after years and brought them so or my bus much business . Today was a disappointment I ordered low mien and it was bad . even ordering it day before Chinese food is always better the next day , but my food was spoiled and gross when calling as tell them what happen after ordering $100 worth of food they told me that their food only last a few hours . Never will they get business from me or my business associate again . Close your doors do not sell bad food we work hard for our money .

I genuinely do not understand how this restaurant has negative reviews. I have been coming to this establishment for over 10 years and have never had a major issue. They have always corrected any mistakes. In addition to the food being delicious, you can’t beat the affordability. The portions are very generous and the lunch specials include a pop. Some of my favorite items are the pork fried rice, steak pepper, and their egg rolls. If you are looking for a quick delicious bite, I greatly recommend this establishment.
