My Place Bar & Grill - McHenry IL

Drinks were great! Had a burger it wasn't the best, I should have tried something else.

EDIT: not the greatest experience today. Show up to the staff saying I had never placed an order. After some convincing that I did and had to show them my order they finally began making it. Ordered steak as a topping for the tots and recieved shrimp. Also they always forget the extra order of rice so I asked to make sure it was included and they almost forgot it again today had I not asked. Also on a previous order they switched the spice level between my wife and my dish making it so she couldnt eat her dinner (too spicy) so we had to switch meals. The kitchen needs help big time. Also I tip always for the waitstaff on my take out orders and find out the owner just pockets the tip $$ instead of giving it to his workers. Unacceptable! Probably wont be going back. Not worth paying $100 for food when this has happened to me atleast 3 different occasions here.

5 stars changed to 2. Shame because we really like this place when and if they get your order correct.

Hubby and I walked in excited to try the food based on seeing many positive reviews. It was early in the evening (5-ish) and we seem to be the only customers in the place at that time. There were two folks who worked there talking behind the bar that looked up at us looking annoyed but did not acknowledge us. Being new to the place and not getting any kind of response we thought perhaps we should seat ourselves. We took the table nearest to the bar so the folks at the bar could see us, but we were never approached or acknowledged in anyway. After sitting there being totally ignored for over 15 minutes we left. Very unwelcoming atmosphere.

We have driven by this place for years and I always assumed it was just a cocktail lounge but a friend went here recently and let me know that it's actually an Indian Fusion restaurant. Six of us came for lunch and we all had something different. My husband had the blackened burger with grilled onion and jalapenos. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly and he loved it. I had the My Way Roll with vindaloo sauce with cauliflower and peas. It's very similar to dosa with a paper thin crispy chickpea wrap. The filling was so flavorful and delicious. My side dish was saffron rice which was good but served very dry (seasoned but no sauce). Others had the curry, the wrap, a pizza and another type of roll and we all shared an order of fries (nothing too special but still good). Everyone said their food was good and they would come back. The mango lassi drink was a big hit too. I marked down the service because we got our food exactly one hour after we arrived and we were the only ones in the restaurant. But our server was friendly and efficient so I can overlook the wait. Try it, you will like it!

I come here at least 2-3 times a week. I spend decent money on their games and food/drink. Come in to find that the entire genre of rap music is now no longer on the TouchTunes?? Ridiculous. I put at least 40 bucks a week into just that alone. I can still play the other music I like but at this point I will refuse to. Ridiculous.

Best food all home made ,best pizza I ever had, food is delicious ! 5 stars !

The food is delicious, different, and reasonably priced plus the location is very convenient. It’s a comfortable place to spend some time EXCEPT for a few of the patrons who frequent the bar and are rude, obnoxious, and won’t mind their business. Especially the guy who likes to fish, he is the reason I will take my business (and money) elsewhere. I am not the only person who dislikes some of the “regulars” who frequent this bar / restaurant. It’s a complaint I’ve heard from several others who have been here. Perhaps the owner or management should address this so people who actually spend money will come in.

Parking: Again, some of the frequent patrons of this establishment like to park directly in front of the restaurant by the flagpole. It looks horrible and is a real turn off. I’ve seen motorcycles parked in this location, which is acceptable and does not look bad, but having vehicles parked there should be prohibited.

The food here is fantastic! My favorite dish is the My Way Curry. I am a vegetarian and there are plenty of delicious options, more than you will usually see at an Indian restaurant! The food is always flavorful and perfectly spiced. The service is wonderful every time and I would absolutely recommend My Place to anyone.

Wonderful staff, very friendly. If you are looking for someone to talk to, hit up their bar. The food was delicious! A fun twist on Indian curry.

Amazing Food, Staff is awesome really nice. Sports & Movies playing on tv's while you eat. They have slot machines, a pool table & darts all in their own sectored location separate from eating & bar areas Very nice setup with room to walk around & enjoy your drink & listen to music on the juke box. Sure there are several bars in town to have a drink & frozen pizza, but there is No Place around McHenry like the last stop out of town MyPlace Bar & Grill. I personally don't do bars, hence most are over crowded & extra loud. MyPlace is perfect for a Quite Lunch Inn or Mild Peaceful Night Out on The Town away from all the chaos & Dive Bars Downtown McHenry.
