Our family went there for the first time we have ever been there for Easter Day Brunch. Unfortunately it was disappointing. The foods out for the brunch were NOT refreshed enough. Service was slow. The variety of the food selection was disappointing. Let’s just say we would not go back there for another brunch.Vegetarian options: There was some.

The worst dining experience of my life. The food is cold (if it's even available). Obviously understaffed. No clean plates available. Seems like they don't clean anything, It is visible dirty with mess that's been left out for what looks like hours. The hostess was literally sobbing at the check in stand when we walked in. What is going on here? Never again.

Finally, riverside dining that is quiet and relaxed! Unlike other resturaunts off the chain, the outside seating here is so serene and it feels like you're on your own backyard patio. My fiance and I came for dinner and loved everything we ordered. We sat outside for one of the last nice nights of the season and even though we were the only people there, the staff turned on the patio lights and a fire pit for us to enjoy. We sat by the fire for a while after dinner just enjoying drinks. We will definitely be back!

Had not been to the restaurant in years. They serve their food at a local summer event we attend so we thought we would go to the restaurant again. The restaurant is part of Mchenry Golf Club. It is open to the public. We went a few weeks ago and they had live music, sat at tye bar but then outside for dinner. The food was amazing! We then sat by the fire and watched the boater on the river. We went just recently with the kids. Everyone enjoyed their food : fish fry, salads, appetizers, burgers.... it was a great meal with outstanding service. The night was reasonably priced too for all we got. Will be a new favorite location and highly recommend.Kid-friendliness: Very child/teen friendly

We had my mother's celebration of life here in September and it was excellent. The food was out of this world. The view is amazing! Communication was not the best. Once we met in person she was so helpful and offered tons of great ideas. Just wish I would have taken more pictures!!

I attended a memorial luncheon for a close family friend. There were several things wrong.1. Told upon arrival they were short staffed2. Did not receive water to drink or acknowledged for 30 minutes3. Requested family style chicken, salmon, potatoes, broccoli. No butter on table, food was luke warm, salmon was dry. (I did not try the chicken). Surprisingly, coffee was hot.4. Told we could not take home additional plates that were going to be paid for but people did not come due to “CDC and Health Department guidelines”. No such thing. Then told it was in the contract that was signed. There was NO contract.5. Told them we would only pay for the meals of the people there as there was no contract.6. Watched continued conversation with staff with texts. Ask for owners, Monica’s phone and staff supplied but Monica refused to answer. Staff finally came out with extra food cooked for guests not in attendance.7. Agreement was made to pay the bill however they bill had charged for pop and that was supposed to be included. Came out with another bill.8. Paid the bill and left facility.I told them I work for a legislator and I work with statute all the time. There is nothing in the statute that states we cannot take the food and with no contract saying that, they should have given the 12 paid for meals to the family without question or the bill should only have the 17 the showed up.The owner, Monica, continually called and then sent harassing and threatening messages to a family member, and sent an inappropriate text to me.The. Texted the grieving family member stating “sharon” meaning me, walked out on the bill, and took photos of the widow with his daughter. (It was paid long before we left. Apparently Monica did not communicate with her staff.) she also sent texts with fo language.Even worse, the waitress took a video recording of my private conversation with her while trying to work out a solution.In Illinois, it is a crime to record by sound or video without the other party’s knowledge. The conversation was in a low tone so as not to upset grieving family members. We had established a reasonable expectation of privacy.A police report is being filed for that action.Several times we told the waitress that this issue was not her fault. Now knowing that she was taking pictures and videotaping without anybody’s knowledge!?’I would never go back to the place for any meal, golf, event etc. But now I know why the place was practically empty for lunch at noon.
