Food was surprisingly amazing for the bar atmosphere. Greek fries and Shawarma were perfect and the desert of Baclava tied it all together. Server was very kind too and conversational, would come back again.
The gyro is super flavorful, the portions are huge for the price, and the tzaiki sauce is THE BEST IVE EVER HAD! It’s not over the top with sliced cucumber. Wife always gets the soulvaki chicken and loves it! Will keep coming back!

Not sure why everyone is giving 5 stars here but I have a theory, more about that later. Our Food was dry and over cooked and very bland. And cold by the time I got it home 2miles away.
As for all the 5 star reviews. Seems strange that this place either gets 5 stars or one. Nothing in between this should always be your clue.

PETE really has done a great job on this place. The colors are dark and sexy as soon as you walk in…A perfect place for a quiet but friendly nightcap. Madison, the bartender is pretty easy on the eyes and super fun to talk to, very witty and funny with the gals yet pulls the best sarcasm out with the guys. Pete has always been awesome, since I was a kid. Great to see him grow in life after all these years. As far as the food…who doesn’t love Greek food? Gyros, plates, and Chicago dogs…not 1 but 2 dogs for $5. The place is perfectly priced, drinks and food are very reasonable for higher quality bar food, I would think he could even charge just a bit more. This will be one of my go-tos from now on. Pete has treated Mchenry for many years and he deserves the support for his great bar!

Went there today 9/14/24 approximately 12:00pm and had the feta plate appetizer and each had a gyro platter. Everything was very good. The service was excellent and our food came out quicker than I expected. The place wasn't busy so I imagine when they are very busy it would take longer to get our food, but that's to be expected. Idk why people get on here and complain they had to wait "a long time" to get their food when the place is packed. Goto McDonald's if you don't wanna wait. Anyway overall we had a great experience and great service and excellent food. We will definitely be back!!!
