It has been YEARS since I had eaten at the Dixie Restaurant in McClean, Illinois! We decided to stop in when we passed along I-55 and the food is as good as I remember! The service was top-notch and the prices are on par with restaurants of this style. Do like me and save room for pie; I am happy I did!!
Food was excellently plated,served and cooked, but some of it should have been warmer. Buffett was greatly priced. Ambiance was over the top. Please do not change it to much as it still has that wonderfully comfortable feel to it. Keep up the great work , but please pay more attention to temp on Buffett food.
To all the critics who knock this place's buffet. ....Rating a Buffet is a waste of time! It's all steam table food made some time ago. Don't come here to rate a buffet . This place has excellent "off the menu" breakfast food with stuff you almost never see, like, corned beef hash and fried corn mush along with some very good biscuits and gravy and great hash browns. I've never tried anything for lunch other than the fried chicken which was very good....
