Amazing restaurant! We came to town for a work trip and stopped here and were so glad we did. We got the pork belly with cheesy grits and honey and the burgers with the bacon bourbon jelly, and everything was absolutely delicious. The staff was great. The atmosphere was lovely. Mya was our waitress, and she was awesome!

Used to love this place and didn’t mind the long drive to and from Mokena. Would recommend it as much as I could. To everyone. Went Saturday with my wife, two daughters and one’s boyfriend. Wine now comes in sizes of 3 ounce or 5. What?! The five once glass is about 11 dollars. Folks, this is not Lincoln Park. You are in frickin’ Minooka. Ordered the strip steak. Medium. Was totally raw. Seemed more like the raw tuna that fancy places like to serve. Hard to detect any flavor when it’s that raw. Should have sent it back but it was cut up into three small slices. Had the same steak about five months ago and it was great. Mushrooms on side were flavorless. Nothing was hot. Had to order fries after I finished my meal because I was still hungry. Fries came with oilio (?) which is just some bad fake sauce squeezed on top. Ruined the homemade fries. Who thinks up these things?! Daughter’s boyfriend had a gin and tonic. Very little, if any, gin. Place got too fancy for its own good. Really chincy with the wine and drink. Sadly won’t be back.

If you have been thinking about going …go! Every-time we dine at Rooted the food just gets better and better. The skirt steak and gnocchi are my official favorites! The beet salad is amazing too! Side note…please do not take the Cheesecake away!!!!!! It’s the best thing on the menu and a must have!

My husband and I went for the first time tonight after hearing such good reviews for months. The ambience was charming and quaint! Our waiter was Tyler. He was so friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu! He had great food and drink recommendations. We split the shareable pork belly and grits-it was so flavorful! We loved every bite. My husband had the special Nashville hot sandwich and I had the burger. Both were served with beef fat fries. Everything was SO good! The dessert we split was the bread pudding made from cinnamon rolls, so tasty! We’ll definitely be back. Staff were so nice and welcoming, the restaurant is beautiful and the food was great!

My wife and I recently dined here and were blown away at how amazing the entire experience was. Our server's recommendations were on point - the Nashville hot chicken, the burger, fries (which are hard to put down) and bread pudding were fantastic, and we had several cocktails which were equally amazing. The breakfast menu looks good, and I look forward to coming back for another meal.
Rooted is pricey but absolutely worth it considering the quality, atmosphere, and incredible service. The menu shifts seasonally (as explained by our server and a few regulars who we were chatting with), which is also nice to see.

I wanted to love this place because it’s a higher end dining experience in Minooka, unfortunately I didn’t like the food at all. I ordered the salmon and it was almost inedible because of the amount of salt, and I absolutely love salt. We also ordered a bunch of shareable items, but they were so small it definitely wasn’t worth the value of the cute atmosphere. The cheese plate had had three pieces of very very small cheese (I enjoyed 1 of the 3). The skirt steak had no flavor. The fried tomato’s were ok, a couple were over cooked and burnt. We ordered dessert, which was the largest course ?…they had a delicious bread pudding, but we weren’t going there for dessert.
We were going to come back and try their brunch, but after this experience we likely won’t be back. I give it a 3 because we also did a bourbon tasting here and it was fun and unique. Also, our server was great, very upbeat and cheerful. I try to share if I’d go back again because I think it’s indicative of how good the restaurant is. I won’t.
I hope this place does well because the owners are nice and are trying to offer a special experience in the Minooka area. I wasn’t going to leave a review because they are all so positive but I also don’t think it was worth the 15 minute drive let alone another reviewer claiming coming from another state, sooo not sure you can believe everything you read. With that said, we all have different palates so good luck!
