My wife and I first visit. Fantastic! We were in the area 2 days and both days we did breakfast at Ruby's. Homemade sauces, real refried beans, chorizo, etc...... Very friendly with great service! Real Mexican not the American/Mexican stuff. We wish they had a restraint in Iowa City
The food was incredible, great price, generous portions. The service was great. Ruby came to our table to check on everything. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. We will be back.
I had the opportunity to finally try this place after passing it every day on my way home from work, and I must say I shouldn't have waited so long to do so. 1st, it gives you old diner vibes with the big opening that you can see through to the kitchen, and the waitress gives the cook the order slip directly.
