Maybe they offer too many things to do a few right. We ordered and waited for our drinks (water, root beer, coke and decaf coffee). She brought the coke and water, said had to make coffee, then returned 3rd time with root beer, said coffee is brewing (at least 3 times - which ok at least it was going to be fresh but not sure why it took so long). Son ordered sweet potatoes fries and pork t, husband ordered ribs w/shrimp, I had cheeseburger and garlic parm fries. She took order and repeated 2 things wrong, including me asking for my burger medium Rare, she said you can't get meatloaf med rare. I'm like I ordered the cheeseburger. She said, oh yeah I can get that med. rare. She left with order. Finally returned with coffee. While waiting the booth 2 over from us inquired about their meal, saying they ordered 30 min ago and had to be somewhere. Couldn't hear what excuse she made (wonder if the order even got put in) She asked if they wanted some free nachos or something. He repeated they had to be somewhere. She said oh you want it to go? That's when my eyes got wide. But within 5 min we had our food. My husband took one fork bite and said this is not even warm let alone hot. My burger was med well :-(.Didn't photo it, only ate a few bites. Husband called her over and she said, you need to go boxes? WTH We just got our food. He told her it wasn't hot, not the ribs nor the shrimp (hope it wasn't the other guys order that sat there). She said I'm sorry I'll take care of that. Returned about 3 min later and said, see if that's better. My husband said so they just microwaved it? She said no, they fixed it new, my husband said no, that's mine where I took one forkful. We were starving so ate and left. Disappointing!!!!!! I won't return. Can't see how it was an 'off' night because they weren't that busy. I'd hate to go when busy.

Stopped in for lunch on the way home from Galena, we had the whole catfish with fries and the fish and chips! The food and service were both excellent! We will definitely stop there on our next trip through! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I went here for a family lunch for my brothers' birthdays. My group of 6 was kindly greeted at the door along with the whole way through the restaurant. The food was tasty, our waitress was kind and attentive, and my family had a good time

My 2nd time eating here will also be my last. Service was incredibly slow, they wouldn’t/couldn’t provide a lime with my ordered soda water and one of our teenagers (who’s not picky) refused to eat her ordered “Adult Mac & cheese. The facility is also incredibly loud making conversation virtually impossible. I’d honestly prefer an Applebees or Chilis experience to The River House Bar & Grill.

Place is very hit or miss on food. Wide variety of cooks, sometimes it’s great, sometimes it’s terrible. Even ordering the same thing. They don’t allow bikes/ebikes inside even if the place is empty and has plenty of room. I wish it was more consistent food wise. Would definitely bring coworkers and family here, but after a couple let down experiences with 5-6 people, it’s off our list.

We went in a back door and staff yelled/ rudely informed us that there was a hostess stand in the front. Our waitress acted like we were an inconvenience. We asked for the pizza bites appetizer, was told they were out. My partner ordered the roast chicken, with corn and mashed potatoes. His food was excellent. I ordered half rack of ribs,it came with shrimp, fries and baked beans. I asked for no shrimp, shrimp was served anyways, I had it taken away. Fries were good, ribs were tender, i never tried the beans. The BBQ sauce on the ribs was awful, I could eat the ribs because of it. I didn't send them back or complain because my partner will eat them. I was going to order the chicken wings, but by the time our waitress came around my partner was almost done with his meal. I left hungry and kinda nauseous.

We stopped in here Friday night. The place was busy. Had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. The restaurant was cleaned well kept. Our server was very nice and attentive. Our food came out hot and plentiful. We would come back here again.

I just moved back to the area and went here for lunch, having frequented it when I lived here previously. Boy has it gone downhill! The service was terrible, the atmosphere has turned more bar like. It seemed to be dingy and dirtier than in years past. Will not return.
