I've finally gotten used to ordering by kiosk - good thing I don't have any questions about the menu. But wait, there's more ! In its latest move to de-humanize its restaurant, Steak and Shake has now introduced scanning for drinks.Up until now, once you finished ordering, you walked over to the drink station and served yourself a drink. Now you have to scan for it. After I ordered, a little notice flashed on the screen for about five seconds after I finished paying. It was gone too quickly to really read it, but I caught the words "scan' and 'drink.' I was confused because I'd already ordered a drink, but then I noticed another slip of paper come out of the kiosk with my receipt and I concluded that I needed to scan it. So I put it under the kiosk and heard a little beep, then went and got my drink as usual.My husband wanted catsup for his fries, and there was a stack of the tiny cups used for condiments next to a faucet -looking piece of hardware, and he kept trying to get catsup from it but couldn't get any to come out. When the next customer tried to get their drink, we learned that it wasn't a catsup pump -- it was a scanner for getting drinks! Except it wasn't working for that, either.So the drink dispensers are locked, and will only dispense soft drinks if the customer scans the slip of paper with the code on it -- but there's precious little warning and no instructions given. And since the catsup pump/scanner by the drinks isn't working, the customer has to walk back to a kiosk at the entrance to scan it.During the time we were there, six other customers tried unsuccessfully to get their drinks until someone came out and told them about the new scanning system. One customer remarked, "stuff like this is why we haven't been coming here and we won't be back." I overheard a man tell his wife, " We have to figure out how to order the meal and pay for it ourselves, and get the drinks ourselves, and then we have to go to the counter and pick up the food ourselves, and NOW we have to figure out how to order the drinks a second time, and then they ask for a tip?"The food is tasty, but WHY does it have to be such an ordeal to get it? Take a look at your demographics -- you are driving away your older customers who grew up on Steak and Shake.And my husband never did get amy catsup

DO NOT ORDER AND EAT THEIR CHILI!My husband and I ordered food from here last night through their app. When we arrived at the drive thru I let the worker know that I was there for our mobile order under my husband’s name. The worker then said in a tone that came off a bit rude, “Well your order is probably already ready. Just pull around and come inside.” I go, “Okay…” So I just pulled around, went inside and grabbed our food. As I was walking on my way out, I then heard a worker say to a coworker, “Weren’t you supposed to take that out?” Then one of the workers says to me, “Have a good night.” After that I just continued to head out with my food. Service was not at all satisfactory. Then, when we got home and started to eat our “bowls” of chili (which were not really bowls, but more like a cup of chili), we noticed how bad the chili tasted. The chili was extremely flavorless other than the fact that it had WAY too much salt in it AND it tasted like it had been made days ago OR like it had been sitting out. Not to mention, but it was also lukewarm. It’s the next day now and I’m positive their chili gave my husband and I food poisoning, considering the symptoms we have. Please avoid ordering and eating their chili. I have not had any other problems with their food in the past, other than some food items being overly greasy.

Tried to do three separate transactions in the drive thru after finding out the lobby was closed, we asked the lady if we could do that and she was unnecessary rude about it, all it needed was an "Unfortunately we aren't able to do that many" not a snappy "Nu uh, not in my drive thru, we only do two transactions at a time."

So I would give service a 5 star however got home from getting my food tried calling 5 times no answer. burgers were so over cooked they crumbled usually very happy with this location refuse to go to davenport one even though closer, this was extremely a waste of $ today

Very accommodating with our big group. We had Like 17+ in our group and our food came out quick, good, and the shakes were fire.Parking: Even with our six vehicles there was still multiple left. Close parking even for non-handicap.Kid-friendliness: Our group had a lot of little ones and the candy machines definitely helped occupy for us adults to finish our meals.

I won't be coming here again because of the automated take my own order. I'm sure they would say it's for my convenience but it's for their bottom line. It's impersonable.Vegetarian options: NOT ANY VEGAN OPTIONS.Wheelchair accessibility: Even enough room for custom chairs.

Food good service just ok. There were 4 of us and we all ordered chocolate shakes somehow they only made 2 had to ask about other 2. Ours was ordered first but second couple got theirs and we had to ask for ours. Didn't like the way we had to order food etc. decided it was better and probably easier to order by car get order and go inside to eat.

Good food. This place looks like it came out of the 1950s with that ugly black and white floor, walls, stools and tables. I don't know why people like a place that looks like the 1950s all over. It feels a little small but it's not a problem. Most of the employees are ok but one guy just kept trying to talk to me despite me clearly wearing headphones.
