Holy crap! I have never been to a truer authentic Midwest restaurant than Cottage Corner! #1- and most important- they don't take cards!! Cash is King in this place! My friend had to foot the bill, but he thinks it's convenient I always forget that fact! (Shhhhh he hasn't caught on yet!lol)
I went with Bobby, Joe and Tony.
Bobby is a regular there, so much so he has to walk around the room ten minutes, visiting all the regulars too, before we can even eat! Poor Tony lost 10 pounds waiting for Bobby to order!lol
The conversations were outrageously friendly and everyone knew everyone's Uncle Ted or that Betty Sue around the corner that lives by the big ol' Elmwood in her front yard. Bobbys yelling across the room at the super friendly waitresses and they're yelling back!
The food? Oh yeah, there's plenty of it that's for sure! After we all ordered the waitress brought our food almost immediately! The restaurant was packed, I was impressed! Try the specials- they were pretty good that day! I had the Mashed Potatoes with Beef, so delicious!
Bottom line- if you want to feel the the heartbeat of the American Midwest- come dine and taste the specialities of Cottoge Corner! ❤️

First time eating at Cottage Corner.
The food was ok. The tenderloin I ordered was actual loin meat but had been pounded out so thin it was hard to get to the taste of the loin between the breading.
Our waitress done a good job and the atmosphere was small town, midwestern Illinois.

It was our first time eating here. The staff was very nice and quick to get our orders. The breakfast was hot and delicious. We will be coming back.
Wheelchair accessibility: I use a walker, the driveway is broken up in areas but totally accessible. A person using a wheelchair will need some help getting in the door.
