Absolutely, hands down, the best authenic Mexican food around!! All the food is fixed fresh and handmade!! Axel is so friendly and welcoming! He treated us like family! Our party had different items from the menu and everyone one of them were OUTSTANDING!! Well worth the drive from anywhere!! Telling all our friends!! We will be going back often!

Small restaurant with unique decor. We were greeted warmly by Friendly staff. I had the birria taco plate that was wonderful. However my son had the beef burrito that was almost inedible. Burnt dried ground beef that should have been thrown out. Unfortunately my son didn't tell me until he was done. My wife said her pork tacos were all right. Unremarkable.

Fantastic food and very friendly service! They have a great menu with lots of choices. Every food we tried was delicious. They have everything from tacos, tamales, and tortas to grilled cheese. MerKadito offers quesa birria which you can’t get at many other places. We can’t wait to go back!

Fabulous restaurant. Truly a diamond in the rough in this neck of the woods. The food is out of this world! From the homemade chips and salsa to the Birria Tacos. Not to mention how family friendly all the employees are. Very accommodating for our 7 month old. We will be back!

This restaurant is AMAZING. Tried it for the first time yesterday and can't stop thinking about it. (Actually going there for lunch again today!) I'm typically never that impressed with restaurant food but this place is truly fantastic. The food has a Latin flair and is extremely fresh. The sauces are phenomenal and like nothing else around here. This is a very unique restaurant, especially for such a small area. I highly recommend it!

In town for a college program for my daughter. and had dinner at this restaurant. It’s personable and comfortable. Axel, the owner, was a great host! The food was delicious… I very much recommend the steak quesadilla- so delicious with the red salsa that’s served with nachos. Absolutely 5 stars! ???

He was so nice from the moment we went in and just all around I can’t say enough about him. On top of it the food was so so so good! Absolutely the best Mexican food around between Monmouth Iowa city and Burlington ! Highly recommend this place !
