Kappy’s American Grill

One of the best American meals I’ve had in awhile! Homemade soup, mashed potatoes were real and amazing!!! Great service and very generous portions. Great visit! Amazing fried chicken too!

They have amazing omelettes. Sometimes I get a plain cheese omelette with American cheese and sometimes I get the vegetarian omelette stuffed with all kinds of veggies and request cheese as an add-on. It's always good and enough for three meals for me. Very affordable. I usually get fresh fruit as a substitute for the hash browns. My order is usually carryout. Everything is nicely packaged and food arrives hot and everything is perfect. I also love their carrot cake, homemade chicken soup with macaroni instead of egg noodles and their coffee. You can't go wrong with the food here. Also, the staff taking my order is always kind and efficient.

Dietary restrictions: Since my last order at Kappys I have started a low sodium or no salt added diet. I have no doubt that Kappys would work to accommodate this sodium restriction. They have always been very accommodating.

Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible. Just one level.

The service was great. Our waitress was wonderful in recommendations on the special, what people ordered more, and she was very heartwarming. I would go there again for any time of the day.

Nice little cafe, extremely pleasant staff and manager. We asked them to seat us in the warmest part of the restaurant, and we were very comfortable there. My girlfriend and I sat there for hours, having a catch-up chat. And their food is both creative and delicious!

The food was delicious and the quantity was huge!

This is a typical 1950s diner restaurant complete with the lunch counter and bar stools. Best deals: Monday and Tuesdays 2 for 1 meals, buy one qualified dinner and take home in a second one for free from the Two-Fer menu.
I always get the Grecian Chicken to dine in and the double pork chops to go.
On Saturdays they have the PRIME RIB dinner for $20. You have to ask for the free buns, they don't offer them unless you ask. This happened after Covid Pandemic struck.

When we first got there, we had to wait for them to clean the table in front of us, when there were many other tables open. Food was not good. Most mediocre food i’ve ever had, we ended up putting salt and pepper on literally everything. When I needed a refill on my pepsi, the man shouted across the restaurant to another employee to do it for him. Worst $80 spent ever

Good food and great prices

When we were sat, the guy who came to the table was kinda rude, but our server had a great attitude. It reminded me of the good cop bad cop routine. I ordered biscuts and gravy, and i dont know how it was made, but there were flavors involved that i would never put anywhere near exceptional biscuts and gravy.

They have deals & their portions are large enough for two. They make a killer Bloody Mary, just to your taste. Free parking. And the nearby malls let you work off food & get errands done. The host deserves 5 stars as do the 2 chefs.

Didn’t get a chance to eat the food so this is based on, customer service experience, went the Kappy’s on Dempster, The manger was rude & unprofessional, didn’t get her name, but she was on the morning shift 7/30/24 she had heavy blue makeup around her eyes. My husband asked her a simple question about his order & she went in on how much it cost her, to substitute pork bacon for turkey bacon. As if she was the owner, she greeted us with her hands on her hip & rudely said what’s up! I told my husband at this point, let’s go. A ruined experience for us!
