My family comes by rather frequently but i've never left a review. The food is Exceptional. The chicken satay with the peanut sauce is full of flavor and tender. The kanom jeeb is cooked to perfection as well, it had a very nice and tender texture. Additionally, their thai curry, pad see ewe, and fried rice are full of flavor and portioned very generously. Apart from food the service is very nice and friendly. Overall very good, give it a try.

Small cozy restaurant , perfect for lunch but not for a big party!
The food was very good and they got it ready in less than 10 min. Also the portions were pretty reasonable and the waitress were very nice and checking all the time.
PS : Get the Ice Thai Latte , is delicious 🤤
I recommend this place ☺️

We got carry out and the portions are so small I had to go and buy more food from another restaurant. The cashew chicken was about a half a cup of food in a cup of juice and 6 tbl of rice. Hardly an appetizer. Super disappointing.
It’s alright, better fresher Thai food out there.
Long-Time Customer - Terrible Experience Today; Will NOT Be Coming Back
My family and I ordered the Three Flavor Fish, which, according to the menu, is 'lightly fried till crisped.' However, when it arrived, it was clear that it had been fried for far too long. The waitress gave us a dull dinner knife to cut through the fish. I’m not exaggerating when I say cutting into this fish was like cutting through a thick piece of cardboard with a butter knife. After several minutes of struggling, we finally tasted the fish, and it was extremely tough on the inside and overly crunchy on the outside. It was obvious that the fish had been overcooked and left in the fryer for too long. Having eaten many Red Snapper dishes at various Thai restaurants, this was by far the worst we've had. The high price of $46 only added to our disappointment.
We kindly informed the head waitress that the fish was overcooked and very difficult to eat. Her response was, "Oh ok, sounds good," before she walked away and did not inform the chefs about our issue. We understand that mistakes happen in the restaurant business, but the lack of any visible concern or effort to address our complaint was disheartening. Most restaurants would offer a slight discount or at least inquire if there was something they could do to rectify the situation, especially when the issue concerns their most expensive dish. None of this was offered, and we ended up paying and leaving.
I’ve ordered takeout from this place several times before and never experienced such poor service. I would advise anyone considering Thai food to avoid this restaurant and try 'Chef of Siam Thai' or 'Krua Thai' instead. At least the staff at those places treat you like a valued customer.

I have been going here for as long as I can remember (10+ years). Genuinely my fav tai food in the Chicagoland area, and I’ve lived all over IL. Every tai spot I go to, I compare to this place. Lai Thai is the best. The chicken pad tai with golden bags is my go-to.

If you're eager to try Thai cuisine, Lai Thai Restaurant is an excellent choice.
Begin your meal with the crispy and flavorful Spring Rolls.
For the main course, the Seafood Curry and Beef Pad See Ewe are must-tries, both bursting with authentic Thai flavors. Additionally, the curry dish with pea pods offers a delightful taste that complements the other dishes well.
The ambiance at Lai Thai is warm and inviting, making it a great place for a relaxed meal. The service is quick and attentive, ensuring you have a pleasant dining experience.

Lai Thai is one of those places that just gets it right.Service is excellent too, regular refills of teas and water. Prompt service. Food came fast. The Lad Nar Chicken was exquisite with ample chicken pieces and wonderful sauce. Noodles were cooked to perfection. Good quantity and excellent quality for affordable price. This is a great neighborhood place everyone should try out

Can't believe such high reviews are here.
Green curry, Pad thai, spicy noodle soup etc. everything was too corn syrupy and sweet. I don't understand why Pad thai is colored with ketchup. Everything taste like ketchup. They were friendly but will never go back. Feels awful after eating.
Excellent Thai food here at Lai Thai! Their menu was huge and great. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. I ordered their spring rolls with plum sauce and cashew chicken. The food was served very hot and fresh! I highly recommend this place, worth visiting!

It’s been a while since I’ve had dinner here. The decor has changed and I didn’t come during Covid since it was only carry out for long after that as well. I enjoyed the comfortable booths that have been added. Service can be hit or miss here, but we were lucky this time. Food came out at a decent pace. Now for the food, I decided to try the Pad Panang noodles with chicken and I really enjoyed the crunchy noodles that I wasn’t expecting so I ordered a takeout of it for my son at home. My husband had the Pad See Eiw but he liked my noodles as well. Spring rolls were good but I will ask for the sauce on the side because they put too much on them for me. The menu has changed with fewer options than in the past. I’ll try to take photos next time.

The previous cook was fantastic. The newer one so so. But it's a good place for rice noodles and typical thai food.
