Traveling from out of town, we visited this place for the high reviews. Unfortunately, while the quality of the food was decent, the service was horrible. We were a total of 6 guests and went there around 6 pm so the place was pretty much empty. The server barely spoke any English. As the table got crowded with empty plates, the server never came to clean it. We asked at least four times for someone to come by and clean up. The server was just standing still next to the sushi bar paying zero attention to us. We then went to the server to proactively ask for dessert, and of course proactively asked for the bill after another round of non-cleaning. Of course a 20% automatic gratuity had been included in the bill. If I could give this place zero for service, I would. Save yourself the trip. There are better sushi places around here.

Came here for dinner. Food was delicious and service was friendly and fast. I highly recommend the bento boxes—you get lots of food AND variety at a reasonable price!Kid-friendliness: Came here with our four-year-old son. He had fun watching the TV in the dining area while we waited. He loved the shumai, gyoza, California roll, and pork katsu we ordered for him.

I really want to like this place bc we passed by it so many times and they had decent reviews. It was dead in there Presidents' day night. We ordered miso soups and veggie/shrimp tempura appetizer and sushi boat. Sushi is extremely small portion, mainly rice and mediocre. We also ordered Ramen, it was eh, even with the add ons. I ordered additional rolls with no avocado. There was barely any ginger that came with the boat, we asked for more and the little more that she gave us, she charged extra for it. I want to support local ma and pa shops but the pettiness of the add ons for the portion and quality of the food that was served and charged, I cannot recommend this place. They also automatically charge 20% tip without noticed and 12.25% tax, is that even right?

LOVE this place !!! We've tried all the new places, but we keep coming back to Sushi Kaya. The fish is so fresh and tender, and the chefs are so utterly consistent. It's perfect every time. I'd eat here every day if i could afford to.

Regrettably, my experience with the Salmon Don at this particular sushi restaurant was far from satisfying. The dish suffered from significantly small portions and high prices, which didn't align with the value offered. While the quality of the salmon was commendable,it was overshadowed by the disappointment of not receiving an ample serving. As a result, I would only recommend this restaurant for sushi lovers who may have a more favorable experience with their other offerings and honestly, I didn’t try the sushi to give a review

Our go to spot for yummy Japanese food! My favorite is the red snapper bento! The service is always great and the ambience has that old school vibe that I love, too.

I stumbled upon this sushi spot when I moved to Morton Grove. I love the chill atmosphere and the food is fresh and tasty! Reasonably priced too! I told my whole family about it. 10/10 I would probably have my wedding here if i could! Lovely place!

Small and cozy restaurant, sushi absolutely perfect. We went for dinner during the week and the restaurant was very quiet which made our experience nice and personalized. Price quality relation is above average, this is the type of restaurant you want to go at least once a month.
